Regarding the UPS layoffs … before we scream “recession” how many of the 12K (2.4% of global workforce) are the seasonal workers hired each year to handle the annual rise in shipments around Christmas?

Seasonal workers are all gone. These are layoffs of regular workers to try to save a billion dollars.

The American people are being fed a load of bullshit! Let me describe a day in Del Rio; 01/29/2024. 8:30am- Val Verde Sherriff arrives in camp to advise that the Mayor would like us to vacate the fairgrounds; despite the fact that it was HE; who invited us down just one week ago. 10:30ish- all loaded up and cruising to the park; to find a dozen you-tubers w/cameras wandering around; and 20-24 TNG just lounging in their vehicles; and not ONE SINGLE “MIGRANT” IN SIGHT. (same Sunday). Also; not one single NG from ANY other state on site. We’re leaving! Drive through town to find three or so BP vehicles cruising Main St. (TX-377) and McDonalds, Wing Stop, Chick-fil-a, Sonic, and Starbucks completely swarmed with TNG; but none of them patronizing the 40+ other local establishments (about par). 11:15am- on the road for the long, miserable, (expensive) 370 mile drive back home. Oh; and NO so called “trucker convoy” in town; nor anywhere along the drive home. STAY HOME and protect your local communities!
