I just left monkeywerxus.com. He showed sea traffic. Real heavy and backed up bad outside of Shanghai. Most shipping was going north. To Beijing. He indicated that China was retooling their manufacturing base. They’re keeping what they make. Much, much less coming here. He showed Long Beach port. Very little activity. Nothing coming here. What does this mean? According to him our supply chain is about to collapse. Like now.

Update. Some ships are coming from Hong Kong. According to monkeywerx we get most of our China imports from Shanghai. So, keep your eyes open for more shortages. Lots of shortages.

Update no.2. The Wall Street Journal says that in January there were over 100 ships backed up at the Long Beach Port. Now they say it is less than 20 ships. However, they indicate that the backlog is now in the container shipping yards. 29,000 containers are waiting to be shipped by rail or truck. They say that this is more than triple the usual amount. Supply chain does not look good. Be prepared.
