I could not resist replacing better with butter. Unfortunately, illegally replacing the rightful President with a fool has effectively destroyed the country. I never thought the next civil war would be fought on our soil against Africans, Chinese and other assorted “friendlies”. While not everyone on the other side will be so noticeable, it will make a difference when it finally goes hot.

Famous Chinese curse”May you live in interesting times” is true.
All through these opening stages, during which ‘all that subterranean, subconscious movement whereby the vast antagonisms of the coming troubles were slowly, remorselessly, inexorably assembled’ (to paraphrase Churchill), it has been increasingly clear that IFF will be enormously simplified for the good guys.
This will apply in both appearance and behaviour, habits and deportment; these things and more will clearly demarcate the enemy to those who observe carefully.
While useful, these things are very sad in implication.
I wish it were so Canada Mike. Identification friend or foe has ALWAYS been a real-world problem in militaries WITH Uniforms. Friendly fire ISN’T.
Not all the hostiles “LOOK” foreign. Not all Native Americans look WASP.
Trying to ID with behavior, habits and such seems difficult with the many 308 from the tree line shooters around here. I once provided medical support for a sniper team in the Sandbox and was amazed at how much intelligence was needed to place the sniper and spotter for the hit. You don’t just set up just below the hill crest and start potting anybody not in a US Military uniform as we had plenty of troops working with locals in local garb.
Not all “native Americans” are going to be “Good Guys”. Some of the people will sell you and yours out for a bag of groceries. Many of the Patriots I’ve met are sadly deficient in logistics, like food, water filtration and basic medical support-sanitation.
Armed and hungry isn’t always a “Good Guy” in my experiences in the 3rd world.
The “rifle behind every blade of grass” might be killing Americans who just don’t look “American” enough for the Skinsuit Patriots.
Sir,
You are entirely correct in your assessment. The margin for error will be thin, confidence low, and the stakes the highest in history.
I absolutely appreciate the difficulties you so clearly address. I hope I didn’t indicate that I conclude these matters will be without doubt and hardship.
Mistakes will be made, without question.
Without ROEs, those mistakes will be tragic, and there is doubt sufficient to give pause to any thinking person.
Unfortunately, I very much suspect that the objective of providing security for one’s family will trump the usual due diligence requirements.
