This is unfortunate, but not unexpected. As one who went straight into the viper’s nest and agitated the mentally defective leftists therein by challenging their orthodoxy head on, he was bound to get aired out eventually. Consider the sort of people he’s surrounded by at an event like this, and tell me that this wasn’t a likely outcome at any one to these things. I’m a bit surprised it took until now for it to happen. Then too, we need to consider that this is a deep state op to get rid of a guy with some mainstream appeal and reach, who was saying stuff the deep state loathes and doesn’t want taking root.
Having seen the hit on video now, I’m sorry to say I that don’t think he makes it. If he does, it’ll be a miracle. Now we wait to see if there’s a patsy put up as the prime suspect, or if this was just a legit deranged leftist who couldn’t bear being challenged.

Charlie Kirk was hit by a assassin’s bullet shortly after 12:20 pm in Orem Utah while speaking at Utah Valley University.

Utah Valley University security believes the shot came from about 200 yards away–meaning a sopped rifle was used. Close up video of Kirk being hit reveals a shot to the neck which possibly severed a major artery. From what I can tell, the bullet also looks like it severed his spine as he jolts upon being hit. It is greusome.
An elderly man (George Zimm) was detained and put into handcuffs as seen on the linked videos. Not sure if he was the shooter.
First reports said the gunman was in custody. This was supported by pictures of an old guy being dragged away. Now the Daily Mail is reporting that the shooter is still on the loose and Fox News is reporting that the shot was fired from a building 200 yards away.
Witness being interviewed by Fox just now says man arrested confessed to the shooting, but had no weapon in his possession. Possibly multi-person plot? Shot seems to have come from a long rifle some yards away–possibly using a suppressed weapon by the sound of the sonic crack of the bullet. Large caliber round. Possibly a spitzer hunting round.
Asassinated…I’m not so sure. I would not put “sacrificed” to bed just yet.
My thinking as well. If (this is a big if, as media is inherently unreliable in getting these details right) the reports of the shot being from a building 200 yards away are true, then it looks even more like a deep state op. Or at least a capable wind up toy likely equipped and trained by the DS. Kind of like the doofus who took a shot at Trump, only this one actually got the job done.
Not to besmirch the late Mr. Kirk, as while he was a “red-pill lite” who could condition normies in beginning to adjust their thinking, I never really understood the appeal of these campus face offs. Sure, they made for entertaining video as the trigglypuffs went ballistic, but he wasn’t changing hearts and minds of idiot leftists (though I repeat myself) on college campuses by doing these events.
Really, the risk to reward ratio just didn’t pencil out, and since the risk was so high (as was found out today), I think he should’ve taken a different tactic. It is my considered opinion that he has been playing with fire, and today was the day he got burned. He was insistent on operating in enemy territory, which was not likely to have much if any real payoff, and it has cost him his life because those he was confronting hated him and had no desire to hear his message. That might have worked for Jesus, but Charlie Kirk isn’t the son of God, and won’t be resurrected in 3 days.
I’ve got admiration, no doubt. Personally I gave up debating people as it is a zero-sum game. I don’t debate politics, I don’t even debate other Christians about eschatology or even the free-will vs predestination anymore- no one can discuss as an adult and keep composure and no one will admit possibly being wrong. Not worth my time, effort, or sanity.

I’m right there with you on that. COVID was the final breaking point for me, never have I seen so many proudly recalcitrant foolish bastards defend a viewpoint that was 100% spoon fed to them by TV and social media, where not an iota of critical thought was expended by these people (who, regrettably, constituted a majority of the general population) and thus debate was entirely fruitless. Any discussion of Ukraine was the same.
I no longer see any useful role for debate, voices of moderation, or any other such half measures. Now we are just waiting for the large scale killing that comes with war to start, and hoping that the good guys can inflict far more damage than the bad guys.
The problem is the good guys desperately want to avoid dispensing with their principles and the trappings of polite society, so they will (mostly) have to be dragged kicking and screaming into targeting and eliminating their enemies. The bad guys have no such hangups, and have already been waging violence at a still somewhat restrained level for years. It is perceptibly picking up steam now, and the time of having to actively engage the enemy at scale is getting very close.

Risk vs. reward? I’d say he’s got a pretty nice reward. “Well done, good & faithful servant”. To live not just “debating”, but a powerful witness for Christ like Charlie was? Oh, that I can muster such boldness. He had more balls than 99% of the “preachers” out there, hands down.
I can’t really argue against that point, taking a bigger picture view of it. I’ll acknowledge that reward has different possible definitions. I was speaking only in the immediate, earthly context of risking his life being taken (and the downstream effects on his family) from these campus engagements. It is now evident he was aware of, and concerned of this outcome, since it has been revealed he was wearing body armor.
Certainly there are other levels of significance in his chosen path, and there are in turn different rewards to gleaned in that context. Are those rewards a fair trade against being cut down at 31, and stolen away from his wife and young children, who will most assuredly suffer from his loss? Perhaps, but I find that difficult to square.
Assassin rat (or rats) still at large. Police say the shot came from the student center 200 yards or so away. Long rifle was used. By the sound of the sonic crack of the round, I would say either a suppressor was used, or the shot came out of a loop hole hiding place (most likely).
I would venture to guess that President Trump is completely aware or fhe situation and most likely has given the FBI full sweeping, never before seen, authority to hunt the assassin/s down. I would not bet against two plane loads of crack FBI investigators being on their way to Prove/Orem Utah at this moment. The would have a unique opportunity to apprehend any individuals involved because of the tight locale of this tragedy–as there are limited ex-fil routes out of the area… unlike a setting such as Los Angeles.
Most likely this is not a lone shooter. Multiple persons are most likely to be involved. Scouts. Get away driver. Etc. They will find witnesses at gun ranges as this shooter zeroed and practiced with his rifle. They will scrutinize all gun and ammo sales–especially match grade ammo, including reloading sales and orders. They’ll scrutinize all cell phone traffic–including hand-held radios. I bet the president will authorize using their satellite capabilities that can record and store ALL surface activity–and what they can track will amaze you. President Trump will pull all the F’ing stops out on this investigation.
When this all shakes out–do not be surprised if it is revealed that there is a group of radical individuals in a conspiracy to commit murder.
