Read an update. Gunman shot a security guard in the leg, a member of the church then ran over the shooter in his F-150, allowing the injured security guard to shoot and kill the gunman.
Thats the most American thing I’ve heard in a long time.

Agreed. Fortunately this church was smart enough to take the armed security precaution and it paid off. It is a measure all churches will need to take soon. Notice the attacked was not deterred by armed security and made the attack anyway.

Way too slow to react to obvious auto rifle fire. You need to think fast and respond to what your senses are telling you in these situations. Especially with little children wandering out of arms reach. Wayne Michigan is a stone’s throw from the regional vibrancy.

If you watch the video many people are slow reacting making for a target rich environment. This congregation is so fortunate he didn’t make it to the crowd. My hope is Pastors take this threat serious and practice escaping/reaction for this eventuality…but I doubt it will happen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4IYQ89vGAc

We will now see what the 6-8 million Jihadists that Obama and Biden brought into America over all of these years; are truly capable of. They have but one mission; and I have no doubt it will be successful; beyond their expectations.

ALL U.S. politicians sign the “Pledge To Israel”. They can’t gain office without it.

Nice, a good, old fashioned church shooting to knock operation “Israel’s Bitch” out of the top spot in the media propaganda juggernaut.

I live 15-minutes from Wayne, Mi, old neighborhood with drugs and small town crime. Nothing this bad has happened before. I also live 5- minutes Dearborn Heights the Muslins are buying house for up to $300,000 then tear them down and the rebuild $millions homes. I’m 15-minutes from East Dearborn which has the largest population of Arabs and Muslins in the United States.
Google search these two cities and get a history lessons. In ten years they will own 75% of these cities.
In the 80s I live in Dearborn, Mi for four years. Home to one of the largest shopping malls in Michigan and huge Hyatt hotel. Today hotel was condemned and sold and the mall is half empty and dangerous to shop.
I don’t go to either cities only if I have to.

On June 22, 2025, a shooting incident occurred at CrossPointe Community Church in Wayne, Michigan, a city of about 17,000 people located approximately 25 miles west of Detroit. The event unfolded around 11:15 a.m. during a Sunday morning service, which was attended by roughly 150 people, including children, as part of a special vacation Bible school program. Here are the key details based on available information:

Incident Overview

  • Suspect and Actions: The shooter, identified as 31-year-old Brian Browning from Romulus, Michigan, drove a Nissan truck into the church premises and exited the vehicle wearing a tactical vest, armed with a long gun (often described in reports as a rifle, though some social media posts inaccurately referred to it as a machine gun) and a handgun. He opened fire outside the church, targeting the congregation.
  • Response by Church Members: A church member, identified as a deacon, ran over the suspect with a Ford F-150 truck, momentarily incapacitating him. This action provided critical time for the church’s security team to respond.
  • Security Intervention: Two church staff members, initially reported as a single security guard, returned fire and fatally shot the suspect. One security guard was wounded in the leg during the confrontation, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries requiring surgery.
  • Casualties: The only reported injury was to the security guard shot in the leg. No other congregants were harmed, largely due to the quick actions of the church member and security team.

Key Details

  • Location and Timing: The shooting took place at CrossPointe Community Church, 3600 Glenwood Road, Wayne, Michigan, around 11:15 a.m., approximately 30 minutes into the Sunday service.
  • Suspect’s Profile: Brian Browning, a 31-year-old white male, was not believed to be affiliated with the church. Authorities suggested he may have been suffering from a mental health crisis, though his specific motives remain unclear as the investigation is ongoing.
  • Police and FBI Response: The Wayne Police Department responded swiftly, evacuating the church and confirming the suspect’s death. The FBI is monitoring the situation, with Deputy Director Dan Bongino noting that federal teams were on the ground providing investigative support. Police believe the gunman acted alone, with no evidence of an accomplice.
  • Church’s Security Measures: Pastor Bobby Kelly Jr. noted that the church established a security team about a decade ago in response to rising violence at places of worship across the U.S. This preparation likely contributed to the rapid response that prevented a larger tragedy.

Witness Accounts and Media

  • Livestream Footage: A livestream of the church service captured the chaotic moment when congregants realized a shooter was active. Gunshots were audible, and people were seen running for cover or evacuating the sanctuary. A woman on stage, speaking about children’s programs, was interrupted as the congregation reacted to the gunfire.
  • Witness Testimony: Worshipper Wendy Bodin reported hearing a loud “boom” and initially thought the suspect had crashed his vehicle. Upon seeing him on the ground and hearing gunshots, she and others were prompted to call 911.
  • Police Statements: Wayne Police Chief Ryan Strong stated that the suspect’s actions suggested an intent to commit a mass shooting, but the quick response by church staff likely prevented a larger tragedy. Deputy Chief Finley Carter III noted that the motive was not yet determined at the time of the initial press conference.

Social Media Context

  • Posts on X reported the incident in real-time, with some claiming the shooter used a “machine gun” and speculating about connections to unrelated events (e.g., Iranian sleeper cells). However, these claims lack substantiation, and official reports confirm the suspect used a rifle and handgun, not a machine gun. Social media also highlighted the livestream footage and praised the church’s security response.

Aftermath and Community Response

  • Church’s Reaction: Pastor Bobby Kelly Jr. told The Detroit News that church members were supporting each other, particularly the children present during the attack, who were reported to be “doing good.” The church leadership is developing a formal plan to address the aftermath.
  • Investigation: The Wayne Police Department, with assistance from multiple agencies including the FBI, continues to investigate the motive and circumstances. The suspect’s lack of known ties to the church and potential mental health issues are key areas of focus.
  • Broader Implications: Some reports, such as one from Archyde, emphasized the need for a multi-layered approach to prevent such incidents, addressing root causes like mental health and enhancing proactive security measures beyond reactive armed responses.

Sources

  • Information compiled from various news outlets, including NBC News, Times of India, Breitbart, CBS Detroit, Fox News, Hindustan Times, Yahoo, Detroit News, and others.
  • Social media posts on X provided additional context on public sentiment but were treated as inconclusive due to potential inaccuracies.

Critical Notes

  • The term “machine gun” used in some X posts and your query appears to be an exaggeration, as official reports specify a rifle and handgun. Automatic weapons like machine guns are heavily regulated and unlikely in this context.
  • Speculation about connections to international events (e.g., Iran) lacks evidence and should be disregarded unless substantiated.
  • The incident underscores the importance of church security protocols and the role of community vigilance in preventing mass shootings.
