Department of Homeland Security Joins Eric Holder’s Attack on Sheriff Joe Arpaio

Sheriff of Sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona, Arpaio has sparked controversy by conducting raids using deputies in order to apprehend illegal immigrants and housing inmates in large outdoor tents.Janet Napolitano has joined Eric Holder’s attack on Sheriff Joe Arpaio in Arizona. The press  release below has already convicted Sheriff Arpaio of discrimination. This conviction includes the termination of MCSO’s 287(g) agreement. Whether this action is in retaliation for his investigation into Obama’s eligibility to be president or a means to dismantle the rule of law, Sheriff Joe is in Obama’s crosshairs.

Arizona sheriff faces federal allegations of discrimination against Latinos

Arizona’s Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, under the leadership of Sheriff Joe Arpaio, has engaged in systemic discrimination against Latinos with practices that violate federal law and the Constitution, the U.S. Justice Department announced Thursday.

A comprehensive investigation found the practices include “unlawful stops, detentions and arrests of Latinos,” according to a Justice Department statement.

It also noted that the sheriff’s office has discriminated against “Latino inmates with limited English by punishing them and denying critical services.”

The press release below is from the Department of Homeland Security. Maybe the Congressmen who voted for the National Defense Authorization Act were correct. The government does not need additional legislation to attack and convict US citizens.

Statement by Secretary Napolitano on DOJ’s Findings of Discriminatory Policing in Maricopa County

For Immediate Release
Office of the Press Secretary
Contact: 202-282-8010

“The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is troubled by the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) findings of discriminatory policing practices within the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).   Discrimination undermines law enforcement and erodes the public trust.  DHS will not be a party to such practices. Accordingly, and effective immediately, DHS is terminating MCSO’s 287(g) jail model agreement and is restricting the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office access to the Secure Communities program.  DHS will utilize federal resources for the purpose of identifying and detaining those individuals who meet U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) immigration enforcement priorities.  The Department will continue to enforce federal immigration laws in Maricopa County in smart, effective ways that focus our resources on criminal aliens, recent border crossers, repeat and egregious immigration law violators and employers who knowingly hire illegal labor.”

Govt is setting Arizona up for the Supreme court decision on states’ rights to deal with illegal immigration. Now we have a President with unlimited powers and the ability to take your 6th amendment rights at his personal discretion.
