However…
Never,ever use drywall screws for anything that will be used outdoors,or have to support any kind of weight greater than a few pounds-like a person.
Use either stainless steel screws,or coated deck screws.There are deck screws available that are coated with Rustoleum-and warrantied for life. Use them.
