Trump has desired to be compared to Washington, Jackson, and Lincoln his entire administration. All three of those men were willing to give the last full measure of devotion. Lincoln proved it. Washington and Jackson both miraculously always walked away from their many battles unscathed. Trump however, continues to cower from the hard truth that is staring us all in the face, we are already at war. There is no peaceful, legal, or political solution to communist subversion.

We either accept the tyranny from the new regime or we fight.

Lincoln tramped the Constitution and was a tyrant. Not sure he is someone that should be looked upon as an honorable man.

I am a Virginian and side with the Army of Northern Virginia because my ancestors fought in it. However, I have the ability, as a historian, to study history from multiple perspectives. From the Union perspective, Lincoln is undeniably a savior of the Republic. I will always respect Lincoln from his perspective of preserving the Union at all costs. He truly lived up to that, he truly gave the last full measure of devotion.

I personally have a lot of respect for President Lincoln staying the course to preserve the Union, as he promised he would, despite many defeats, and while embracing the extreme level of devotion required in the face of so much carnage.

The Army of Northern Virginia is devastated, both by the war and news of their surrender, but they still love their general, General Lee, and will follow him anywhere and carry out his orders no matter the hazard. They would have fought to the bitter end, to the last man, had General Lee ordered them to do so. As Lee rides away an overcome soldier extended his arms and shouted, “I love you just as well as ever, General Lee!”

Virginia cavalryman Rawleigh Dunaway, wrote in a letter home in February 1865 what most soldiers in the Army of Northern Virginia believe and were committed to in 1865.

“I have thought the matter over calmly & seriously & have made up my mind to follow that great & good man, Robt. E. Lee, wherever he may lead, to success or to ruin if it must be.”

Though I respect Lincoln, my heart is and always will be with the veterans of the Army of Northern Virginia.

How can you respect a tyrant?

He arrest members of the press, expelled a sitting member of congress, called up troops, he arrest a member of state legislators, suspended the rule of law, he activated troops, he arrested a judge that ruled against him, he confiscated arms in from citizens (in the North), arrested a police chief, arrested a mayor, allowed to the seizure of private property without just compensation, etc…

He did much more than we have been complaining about now.

Not to mention that in the Declaration of Independence it is stated that We have the right to leave the Union.

From Lincoln’s perspective he had to violate the Constitution to save the Union. I’m not saying I fully agree with all of Lincoln’s actions but I can understand it and I respect it. Very few men would have stayed the course in the face of so much carnage as Lincoln did.

We are all begging Trump to do similar things. If that does happen, if Trump does act, don’t be so naïve to think that half the country will not be divided from now until eternity by his actions. Just as we are divided by Lincoln’s actions to this day.

Also, Lincoln never would have even been elected had the Democrats not setup the election of 1860 to guarantee that Lincoln would win. The Democrats ran a northern candidate, a southern candidate, and a third party was created, the Constitution Party, to ensure Lincoln’s victory. South Carolina promised they would secede if Lincoln was elected. So the Democrat hawks guaranteed that result to create the environment for war.

Douglas a career northern Democrat, believed that popular sovereignty should decide the controversy over the expansion of slavery into new US territory. Lincoln, the Senate nominee of the upstart Republican Party however famously stated, “A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe the government cannot endure permanently half slave and half free.” The South will never forget these words; that statement is the primary reason the South will never trust Lincoln and will secede upon his presidential election. In addition, that quote will also bring Lincoln into national prominence for future elections but cost him the Senate race he said it in.

Lincoln will win the presidential election and this will be the primary reason the first seven states will secede from the Union and form the Confederacy.
Lincoln’s belief that the expansion of slavery must not continue and his belief that a nation divided over slavery cannot endure is why the South will secede. The South will never trust Abraham Lincoln.

He did not suspend the rule of law! He followed it to a fault. He DID suspend, the Rule of CONSTITUTIONAL Law. Which is the exact opposite of the communist rule of law= democracy. There is no -we the people- component in RoL.

Not one mention of the young woman killed by the thugs in suits. That violence was ok. She was there defending President Trump and the Constitution and he could give a shit. Instead he is worried about himself. I was a Trump supporter and I still appreciate the good things that he was able to do, but in the end he cowered and threw his supporters under the bus. He knows there is a communist coup taking place right now and it is his sworn duty to defend the country against it. I don’t want to hear that he didn’t have the support and was surrounded by traitors. Of course he was. But he didn’t call on the American people, the militia to come to the aid of America. The call would’ve been answered. But he chose the easy way, the cowards way and now we are all going to find out just how dark of a time we are entering.

We are and have been at war for a long time now. Our enemy is thinking this operation through and winning--if he has not already. We are not thinking we are in a war; therefore, our thinking is not strategic as it should be in a war. How is it we are a nation of laws if the lawmakers will always escape the rule of law when they are found guilty? I contend we are not a nation of laws, rather we are a lawless society. The lawmakers have made it so our laws are used against us. We are pussy’s who allow it. We are the oppressed, where are the liberators of the oppressed? Where is our Special Forces, Delta, Marines? Bring them on.

From reading the post -- looks like allot of you have more at stake than the President -- Get a grip — He is in a fight for his life right now -- you better hear him loud and clear — Trump worked hard for us
The people spoke in Nov and everyone knows it — If You do something stupid at least wait till they can’t blame him for your actions — The time is coming when action is called for but if the Presidents asks for Peace --Respect his wishes — he’s earned that and you wouldn’t know any of this if it wasn’t for him
