The above message sounds good. And I know we all want to believe. But the time for make believe is over. HR 1 (the For the People Act) will erase any fair elections. We have not had fair elections in decades. And here is the kicker: we all know it.
But I would like to address the above strategy because I too believed in 2009 that this might work. I became a precinct captain in Raleigh and had access to their voter database. This is what I learned:
- The Republican party in Wake county had no technical experience with data, effective organization or planning. This is why big tech dominated the Communist overthrow of the government in a short time frame.
- It was all show: the party was controlled by their own machine. You could attend and vote but the end result was fixed in most cases. In the cases where the vote did not go their way, they did an end run around it and still had their own way. If a vote was not going to go their way, they either cancelled the meeting or rescheduled it to an earlier time without notification. Remember Robin Hayes’ “election“?
- In North Carolina, the GOP has POOH rules concerning party actions which Tom Fetzer dismissed by attacking GOP primary candidates. Here is another example from the Daily Haymaker in 2015:
Well, you folks attending the convention have two choices: (1) bow your heads and follow your orders to retain the establishment power structure, or (2) send a message to Raleigh that creates the kind of aftershocks not felt in Raleigh since Jerry Meek upset Gov. Mike Easley’s NC Democrat Party chairman choice Ed Turlington.
Red pill or blue pill. Choose wisely.

I do believe that some anomalies have happened. Look at the anointing of Lynda Bennett by Mark Meadows. The backdoor machinations between the Meadows’ family, the Freedom Caucus, the Asheville TEA Party and the GOP “leaders” almost succeeded. Fortunately, Ms. Bennett’s reputation in the real Tea Party/912 Groups was not forgotten or forgiven and Madison Cawthorn won. And of course the Trump anomaly where they misjudged the number of fake votes Hillary would need to win.
Free elections in this country are not free: they are bought with power and money. Whatever anomalies happened in the past, HR 1 has nailed that coffin closed.

The Republiscams do the same damn thing nationwide. In 2008 I watched the GOP leadership run the Nevada State convention in Reno, deliberately, into overtime and then “reschedule ” it behind closed doors. This was done so that the convention could not send a Ron Paul delegation to the National Convention. Sometimes one cannot fix something until it breaks. Hopefully that time is soon.
From the standpoint of government, nothing is broken!
I had exactly the same experience in the 2008 Georgia GOP State Convention -- except that the chair just gaveled away dissent -- “in the opinion of the chair the ayes have it” … ignoring screams of anger from the floor as they appointed the Governor’s wife & other safe party hacks in a successful move to thwart the Ron Paul movement from sending delegates to Tampa.
I’m sticking with the black pill. Even if, on the off occasion, you vote is counted fairly, nothing will erase the simple fact that your vote is NOT nor has ever been a choice. In the words of Ambrose Bierce, your vote is the choice of the choice of another man (and that’s on a good day).
This reality doesn’t even delve into the simple fact that the other guy has a damn good chance of winning. Then what? Do you live with that other candidate’s creeping marxism for the next 4 to 8 years (the hallmark of a democrat win)? Only with a “good” outcome do you even wind up with the capitulation, compromise, and more slowly implemented socialism of a republican “win”. Voting for the lesser evil does not result in good!
In the end, your vote is nothing more than a validation of the state and a legitimization of the state’s so-called democratic mandate. They win/we lose…every time…no exceptions.
So stop voting: stop validating clown world.
The posting, Quatermain and Palmetto are each true. The GOP has been an inbred power group for a very, very long time. I have been involved on all levels since 1966 and have seen it up close and personal, but 2020 and today are the worst it has been. I’ve given it a lot of thought as to what exactly could be done to even start to rebuild or if that is possible. My conclusion is that the entirety of the system, including the grassroots two-party system is lost. The day we began exchanging volunteers for hired ‘experts’ (which resulted in the precinct people forgetting how to do analysis and projections), allowed Gary Hart to bring his paid ‘young people’ instead of the volunteer supporters to doorbell precincts, paid temps to register voters instead of doing ourselves, and accepted Obama’s radical weaponization of anything digital in 2012, the system collapsed.
Not only have we lost, or simply have now recognized we no longer need what the federal, and many state governments have become. The real question for Pelosi, Romney, Ryan, Swallwell is: “Why do you think you are relevant, or necessary?” The fenced off governmental buildings in Washington, DC are really brilliant artworks. Viewed from the inside they give their creators a sense of bravery while fulfilling their duty. Viewed from the outside they appear to be a zoo inhabited by endangered species.
It’s over and it’s not coming back…ever.
