Explaining this to Your Grandchildren

My children had no inclination to watch black and white movies. My reasoning that they were classics did not sway them. Fast forward to the above AI generated short. Now fast forward ten years and try to explain to our young progeny how movies were made for the past 125 years.

A script had to me submitted for approval, budgets made, producers and a director had to be hired. Set locations had to be made and/or rented. Actors had to be auditioned and cast for the roles. Filming had to begin and hopefully remain on schedule and under budget. Then the film had to be edited and parts possibly reshot. Special effects had to be generated and incorporated. The movie was finalized, distribution and advertising were completed and then people could go see the movie. I left out obtaining the rights for the movie in most cases, the infamous casting couch and actors’ attitudes. I also left out music, costumes and the other multitude of tasks shown in the credits that people never watch.

When the child looks up and asks why wasn’t AI and a computer used to generate the movie, where would you start to explain? We are about to enter a new world. If we survive the demise of this current world. The good news is that Hollywood will no longer dictate the narrative of how people should bow down to their version of DEI reality.

Don’t care now good the CG is. If the story is crap the movie will be crap.

Definitely. But perhaps now, stories that were considered too complex or too expensive to produce by conventional means will be made.

I’m using an AI generator for an upcoming pitch meeting. Am making a 2 minute teaser using only AI. This would have cost me a 100k years ago and would have been very crude. The era of the big studio, big distribution systems, big film finance, film unions and network TV is going to be gone shortly.

Think of Napster and what has become of streaming music and the death of the power of the RIAA.

Censorship is alive and well in America. AI is censoring human activity and function. If I had young children today, I would teach them about a “real dog” not an AI generated dog. I would have a real dog and many other critters around the house for them to play with and care for. I would teach them about human empathy and compassion not AI copy cat. I would show them the real world over and over. There is no escaping AI. It’s like an octopus strangling our flesh. No thank you. Ethics? Where are the wise men?

Patrick Wood seems to be a wise man who is deeply exploring AI on his substack page. Google has buried his work. Hear with your ears what he has to say about how AI is censoring us. I cry real tears.

Whether it is AI or the Roadrunner and the Coyote, the ultimate responsibility for what children are exposed to is the OBLIGATION (!!!) of the parents. Here in Kootenai County, ID the Forces of Darkness have repeatedly tried to infiltrate the public library system and brainwash the youngsters with their LGBTQ+ demonic propaganda. It took parents, grandparents, the local churches, and others to GO TO THE BALLOT BOX (!!!) and vote for people who would not succumb to the agenda of the local Marxist-Abortion-Sodomite Party.
Now I know I will get blowback because I mentioned voting. But keep in mind, all politics is local. I and others cannot change anything at Mordor-On-The-Potomac. And we are limited in what we can influence in Boise. However, in our little corner in the world, we can assemble enough true believers to hold off the long march of socialist degeneracy. Growing up in the 1950’s, the content of TV was always scrutinized by our parents. And even in present day, whatever CG or AI garbage can be edited or stopped by a household which follows the Good Book. Plan accordingly.

I can think of several books that could be made into crackerjack movies this way.

I don’t doubt it.
I can think of several books by Heinlein alone that could be made into crackerjack movies this way.

I prefer ai movies to Hollywood any time. I hope the wealthy actor is a thing of the past.

While AI potentially opens up the opportunity for people outside the Hollywood system to make impressive productions on a shoestring budget, the AI itself will be hobbled by pre-programmed “forbidden thoughts” that the AI’s creators will as attempt to stuff in the model. There is also the fact that having been cheapened into a commodity, there will be endless crap content produced now just because it is so easily possible to do so. There will be an overload of production, which will make separating the wheat from the chaff even more difficult, I expect.

Overall, I remain unconvinced that any if this is a good thing for humanity.

Try asking google what percentage of world population is white. Cannot get a straight answer. EVERYTHING is controlled narrative.

Precisely. These so called AI’s are inherently biased based on the views and wishes of their creators. It therefore stands to reason that there will be certain content they will not be allowed to render, which means their usefulness is diminished right out of the gate. Add that to the ease with which they can be used to generate near endless amounts of shlock, and it becomes apparent it is just another tech bubble that will over promise and under deliver. It will also warp perception of reality even worse than social media has already done.

Very few have a truly original thought. This looks like a rip off of Star Wars, The Sword in the Stone, The Lord of the Rings, and pretty much any other “original” science fiction/fantasy genre.
