The US Bureau of Reclamation released its first outlook of the year and finds insufficient stock is available in California to release irrigation water for farmers. This is the first time in the 54 year history of the State Water Project. “If it’s not there, it’s just not there,” notes a Water Authority director adding that it’s going to be tough to find enough water, but farmers are hit hardest as “they’re all on pins and needles trying to figure out how they’re going to get through this.” Fields will go unplanted (supply lower mean food prices higher), or farmers will pay top dollar for water that’s on the market (and those costs can only be passed on via higher food prices).

If you are trying to start inflation in a country then limit its food supply and see what happens. We hear from the Fed how they want more inflation. Well I think the consumers will see plenty of it in the grocery stores. All the government had to do was cut off the water to regions of CA. Pretty easy wasn’t it.
If you want to control people, control food and energy. Obama has been extremely effective in the latter. We will shortly find out what it really means about never letting a crisis go to waste.
I lived in the Los Padres Mountains for 13 years. Our community relied on the snow pack for replenishing our well system. Well there is no snow yet in these mountains. This is not a conspiracy of government as some pose. It is God who determines the blessings and curses visited upon men.
Amo 4:6
“Also I gave you cleanness of teeth in all your cities.
And lack of bread in all your places;
Yet you have not returned to Me,”
Says the LORD.
Amo 4:7
“I also withheld rain from you,
When there were still three months to the harvest.
I made it rain on one city,
I withheld rain from another city.
One part was rained upon,
And where it did not rain the part withered.
Amo 4:8
So two or three cities wandered to another city to drink water,
But they were not satisfied;
Yet you have not returned to Me,”
Says the LORD.
The Scriptures enable us to predict what happens to a people who reject God.
I agree.
California’s system of aqueducts and storage tanks was designed long ago to take advantage of rain and mountain runoff from wet years and store it for use in dry years. But it’s now inactive — by design. California’s forefathers built a system (of aqueducts and storage facilities) designed to withstand five years of drought.
Infrastructure dating from the 1960s for transporting water, but by the 1990s the policies had changed.
Environmental special interests managed to dismantle the system by diverting water meant for farms to pet projects, such as saving delta smelt, a bait fish. That move forced the flushing of 3 million acre-feet of water originally slated for the Central Valley into the ocean over the past five years.
