So, let me see if I understand. Her husband volunteers to go to a war zone to assist where the odds are against the home team. They get word that the home team is getting smoked and decide that it’s not prudent to honor their commitment and are now refugees.

In old time merc work, you needed real time intel of where you were going. On scene contacts, if possible. An exit plan, or two. In Rhodesia the exit plan was the Beitbridge 500.

Somebody LIED to me!!!
ME!!!!! I WAS PERSONALLY AFFECTED (well not really, but someone I know in real life was actually affected, so that affects me through osmosis)!!!!
