If our Congressswines and their families had the same medical coverage and treatment as the rest of us, they would act differently.

But they are elites who live in isolation from the Little People who pay their salaries….

Spain is a socialist country. Their current leadership is full of typical whack jobs seen in other socialist countries. The nation has made great strides in their return from a severe housing crash in 2007. That growth happened largely through increased tourism and retiring baby boomers from the U.K. and other Northern European nations who moved to sunny skies bringing their money !! But now that is at a screeching halt.

Spain is now finishing three of a four week mandatory lockdown. It may well be extended depending on how slow the cases are diminishing. Nobody allowed out except to shop, medical treatment, or essential work. Restaurants may only deliver meals. No carry outs by patrons since the patrons at e not allowed out for that purpose. Heavy fines if caught out. Patrols by drones common in bigger cities. Many businesses will not ever reopen.

Our son lives in Madrid, almost fifteen years now so we see that nation’s change and issues with an insider’s viewpoint. This doctor is much like many we have met in that he and all Spaniards are oriented primarily toward their families and are close in distance and relationships. No doubt his views are based on solid facts.

Remember that the CDC screwed up as well. In 2015 they had a study saying they needed a stockpile of 300 million N95 masks on hand to meet an projected pandemic. Secretary Ansar of HHS told Congress in a hearing in late January that our stockpile for emergencies had only 42 million !! This shows our leadership to be as incompetent as Italy’s or Spain’s….

Or as I like to say, “We have all the politicians we can afford to keep…”
