Based on the available information it would seem the officer did not have a warrant. That being said if he was looking for the suspicious person why not have his dispatcher verify who called in the report and the address of the caller before entering someone’s home illegally. Ever think of knocking on the door? There may be more to this but as it stands if you stupidly enter someone’s home without permission, without a warrant, or without notifying the home owner then don’t complain when this happens.
