Ahhh poor boy. You can’t serve two masters mr. freemason. I have the least respect for anyone in a secret society. Plus, I want to know what the big secret is that is sooooo great for mankind, but you have to keep it a secret. Yeah, so we the taxpayers get soaked again for the cost to restore and reinstall this statue. And I too have always found Freemasonry to be a very odd duck. I have an inherent distrust of any organization that resorts to pressuring it’s members to keep secrets. That behavior really isn’t too far removed from Scientology, or the high band mighty people who rubbed elbows with Epstein, when you get right down to it. And we see how well it has turned out to have a government that is always keeping secrets from us on the basis of “national security” (yeah, sure it is).
Big Ruckus D: The truth is out there. Read HOPE OF THE WICKED by Ted Flynn. Read BROTHERHOOD OF DARKNESS by Dr. Stanley Monteith. Documented and footnoted, both of these works explain what Freemasonry is all about. Sobering stuff.
Appreciate the pointers. I do have some background info probably along the lines of the books you mention, but didn’t want to to type up a lengthy post on that angle. The TL;DR is that in have a very unfavorable view of Freemasonry.

Typical Newz, a Minor Confederate General, but that’s the Lead, omitting Why his statue was even in DC, meanwhile General Lee’s atatue goes unrestored, the Reunification Memorial in Arlington Cemetery goes unrestored, and army bases across the South named for Confederate generals remain unrestored as they are renamed for Different US Vets with the same last name.

Of all the Confederate statues to restore, that seems like an odd first choice.
