Good riddance to the federal Department of Education. Each state is capable of educating their young citizens. Each state sets the standards required for each grade level and then the state steps back and lets each school district figure out how they will meet those standards. School board members are elected positions and they are the most accountable for their decisions about our children’s education and safety. The federal government is too far away and too susceptible to foreign influences. Even the state capitol is too far away and should only be involved in setting standards to be met. If your local school board wants to exceed those standards, then all the better.
