Thinking like an infantryman will not win the civil war.
The smugness is unbecoming, unwelcome and most importantly it is completely unjustified.

Agree… Every time I read or hear about “operators” I wonder when they will “operate” against our threats. Those “operators” are guys working for and on Uncle Sam’s dime. So I’m really NOT impressed by those “operators”.

He’s not wrong and his general point is correct. However, I’m also not impressed with the smugness. And I don’t have my panties in a bunch at hearing this. Nor do I have an aversion to salty soldier talk.

I spent half a dozen years as an “operator” contractor in the jungles and urban areas of South & Central America. Several types of missions, many recon, many security, many capture, many extermination. And sometimes the tables turned and we became the hunted. It’s what you do. I too have many pertinent skills to pass along and do to those around me who want to learn. But I never do it with this type of attitude.

As to the cool guy gear comments: what’s with the folder on a 16″ ? Almost seems like a waste. Put that on an 11.5″ mid-length gas system and it makes far more sense IMO.
Am I the only one getting tired of all this cool guy operator beard thing ?

There’s no reason to be a smugass, And I have to wonder if the sizeable amount of skilled & experienced operators that have come out of the last 20 years or Afghan & Iraq wars had a plan to bust Kyle out of prison if they convicted him of murder ? I doubt it.

How to clandestinely carry a pistol? I wonder if he ever worked felony warrant service. Major crimes task force. Got any street sense? Trim that nasty beard.

It is what works for him, everybody custom fits what works for them. I appreciate all good advice, if it works use it if not move on. When the lead starts flying we will see who stands and delivers.

He didn’t offend me or hurt my feelings. I’ll take his advice, learning is my game.
