H. R. 7484
To require Members of Congress who are foreign nationals to file a statement of their status as a foreign national, and for other purposes.
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
February 29, 2024
Mr. Burchett introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on House Administration
A BILL
To require Members of Congress who are foreign nationals to file a statement of their status as a foreign national, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
This Act may be cited as the “Dual Citizenship Disclosure Act”.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have a better idea: a bill that excludes any Congressman, President, Vice-President, cabinet heads or Supreme Court Justices of representing foreign nationals, foreign governments or having dual citizenship.
Here is the response from ChatGPT concerning this issue:
David DeGerolamo
do you have a list of United States congressmen with dual citizenship
ChatGPT
I’m sorry, but I don’t have access to real-time databases or lists of United States congressmen with dual citizenship. You may want to check official government sources or news outlets for any relevant information on this topic.
The responses from Google were manipulated as were DuckDuckGo. Here is a link to Wikipedia showing congressmen not born in the United States for what it is worth. I understand that our political elite do not have to be dual citizens to align with foreign interests. Maybe we should have a high level trial and execution if found guilty of an selected official who publicly admitted their monetary gain from foreign interests?
I would like to see how many congresscritters, cabinet members and ministers are dual citizens of USA/Israel and/or are Jewish Zionist. You would be surprised.
Here’s one list I found…just of democrats:
THE US SENATE [13]
Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) Barbara Boxer (D-CA) Benjamin Cardin (D-MD) Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) Al Franken (D-MN) Herb Kohl (D-WI) Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) Joseph Lieberman (Independent-CT) Carl Levin (D-MI) Bernie Sanders (Independent-VT) Charles Schumer (D-NY) Ron Wyden (D-OR) Michael Bennet (D-CO)
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES [27]
Gary Ackerman (D-NY) Shelley Berkley (D-NV) Howard Berman (D-CA) Eric Cantor (R-VA) David Cicilline (D-RI) Stephen Cohen (D-TN) Susan Davis (D-CA) Ted Deutch (D-FL) Eliot Engel (D-NY) Bob Filner (D-CA) Barney Frank (D-MA) Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) Jane Harman (D-CA) Steve Israel (D-NY) Sander Levin (D-MI) Nita Lowey (D-NY) Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) Jared Polis (D-CO) Steve Rothman (D-NJ) Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) Allyson Schwartz (D-PA) Adam Schiff (D-CA) Brad Sherman (D-CA) Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) Henry Waxman (D-CA) Anthony Weiner (D-NY) John Yarmuth (D-KY)
And that’s just the democrats!
Anyone noticing a strong thread of commonality in the above lists?
It is as plain as the nose on one’s face……
Trials and executions for that would clean house for sure.
David, like your position, all of the above invalid from running for office if holders of dual citizenship. What country are your serving/working for? When lies their allegiance?
Keep that list of names. You will need it later.
I have a novel idea:
1. With respect to Congress, enforce Article I, Sec. 2, clause 2 & Article I, Sec. 3, clause 3, US Constitution. Citizens are the primary enforcers by refusing to vote for anyone who is not eligible. Demand that they produce proof that they meet these criteria if you have any doubts. Ted Cruz didn’t renounce his Canadian citizenship until May of 2014. And I don’t know if he ever became a US citizen. Apparently, the People of Texas never bothered to find out -- they voted for him anyway!
2. With respect to the President & vice-President, enforce Article II, Sec. 1, clause 5 & the last sentence of Article XII, US Constitution. Don’t vote for them if they don’t prove they are citizens. Yet look at all the people who oooohh’d and ahhh’d over the two (or three) Indians (from India) who wanted the Republican nomination. The people who supported them didn’t bother to find out! they didn’t care or didn’t think about it.
3. You don’t directly select federal judges & the other civil officers of the United States -- it might be a good idea to add an Amendment to the Constitution setting forth Citizenship requirements for federal judges and other civil officers of the US. Meanwhile, you can only protest (peacefully, of course) federal judges and civil offices who are not Citizens.
We are going to need miles of rope.
Having dual citizenship isn’t necessarily a nefarious thing. Many do it to be able to simply travel to certain countries because a US citizenship would not grant them entry. Know before you insinuate, and don’t make a general condemnation.
I am missing your point.
If it were up to me, there would be ONLY Americans in Congress, 100% American and renewal of their oath to the Constitution should be mandatory and have teeth!
