If you want to know what the devastation would be of any megaton bomb in any city , go to nukemap.com
Great site to learn what the blast radius would be in any area of your state and city and the amount of people who would die based on the megatons

You can survive a nuke attack just by following some basic principles of nuke survival, not all is lost, quite the contrary. It’s dust that would be the killer so you would need to make sure you keep the dust out and not breathe it in unless you have the protective radiological full face masks , after an attack you would need to stay put for at least 1-2 weeks until all the dust settles and begins to get washed into the earth. And buy a Geiger counter one for testing foods and the air outside you will need this very much.

Firewood should be kept covered anyway…to keep it dry. Doing this will also prevent fallout from contaminating it.

Over the years I have read dozens of books on nuclear war and weapons. If you get only one book this is it!
While an air burst generally produces little fall out, a nuclear war in general will produce lots of radioactive iodine, which is taken up by the thyroid gland. This is particularly bad for children!
Get potassium iodide tablets for all of the young now and get the book!

Counter value targets, ( cities) are not likly to be struck early in a war, if at all and will produce little fall out from the air burst! So cities down wind will not likely cause much fall out. None the less buy or build a Geiger counter and have what you need for a shelter. Now if you are down wind from missle siloes or other hard targets needing a ground burst, just move!
Our problem will be fleeing refugees needing, shelter, medical care, water and food, of which we have none to spare!
Again lots of good advice, I had not thought about the wood!
