As much as you can! Inflation is here, food will be more expensive in the future if available, so even if there isn’t a nuclear war or crash, you will save money!
There is a learning curve to gardening, so it is best to have a couple of years of stored food, in addition to several years worth seeds and fertilizer.

Of course you must have water for drinking and irrigation, lots of water.
I am watering the garden twice a week.

How much do you need set aside for the coming collapse? Depends upon your definition of the collapse and what it entails. A better question might be: How long will it take to bring society back to it’s present, or even semi functional level once it does collapse? Also dependent upon the level of collapse. A solution might be: If possible you should prepare yourself to exist indefinitely on your own, by your means only. If possible -- gardens, water, clothing, shelter, defense, power, heat, medical emergencies, etc. It’s a looong list. This will not end well for any of us. No exceptions. Even the uber wealthy will be affected, whether they like it or not. There Is No Free Lunch!

No such thing as a free lunch!
OMG, surely not, what shall we do?

Seriously now, recovery time will be to a large extent the depth of the collapse and wether or not nuclear war ensues and its extent!
We can’t really for tell the future, none the less it looks bad, really bad, the worst I have seen in my seventy three years!

I encourage you all to stock up as best as you can, don’t slack off now.
Do it all, Get out of any city move to the country, homestead, become self sufficient, indefinitely!
Prepare for the worst and hope and pray for the best! Tempus fugit!

Food is like ammo. You can never have too much unless you are on fire or drowning.
