Reuters correspondent Sam Jacobs says the desire among conservatives to unseat President Barack Obama will pull them to Mitt Romney with the exit of their standard-bearer Rick Santorum from the GOP presidential race. (April 11, 2012)
The “Conservative” label never felt right for me. Primarily because each conservative has a different idea what it means. How can a movement to restore a nation to its founding principles succeed if it cannot define itself? How will we cause political change? We must look back in history to see how we did it the first time according to four quotes from Samuel Adams:
“It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds.”
Does anyone think that joining conservatives to unseat Obama (according to Reuters) meets this criteria? Ask any conservative how Romney will change this country and you will see the “deer in the headlights” look glaze over their eyes. Then the inevitable attack will commence for asking such a question. Then comes their retort “Do you know what will happen if Obama gets reelected?” Yes I do know what will happen: America will collapse. But that does not answer the question of how the GOP stuck us with Romney in the same manner as we got stuck with McCain. And it does not answer how America will not collapse economically under Romney.
“Among the natural rights of the colonists are these: first, a right to life; secondly, to liberty; thirdly to property; together with the right to support and defend them in the best manner they can.”
Obamacare took care of “a right to life”. The NDAA and the Supreme Court took care of liberty. The confiscation of GM bonds by the government took care of property. 750 million rounds of 40 cal. hollow point bullets by the government will take care of our 2nd amendment rights. As the New Black Panthers stated with no consequences, a sea of red will occur in the country. This will be initiated by the government through top down, bottom up and inside out as they have told us themselves. These truths are self-evident.
“All might be free if they valued freedom, and defended it as they should.”
Some Americans value freedom. Even less will defend it. Those who defend it understand what the alternative is. We should feel shame when we read the words of Thomas Paine today: “Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated.”
“If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin.”
There is no question that this time has come. Experienced patriots have been vilified by the government in Washington which has usurped power and our founding principles. A conservative today is a PINO (patriot in name only) who will follow the sheep and vote for Romney. A patriot understands that restoring freedom is not inciting rebellion or insurrection. It is understanding that the second amendment is not a right but a duty placed on all Americans. As George Washington warned us in his farewell speech, the political parties have destroyed our country.
