I wish I could believe that. Since long before the COVID debacle, the biggest source of blarney in the USA is the Democratic Party base (particularly, females), far outnumbering drug dealers, ticket scalpers, dishonest used car salesmen, and carnival callers.
I should flesh that out a little. I recommend reading Naomi Wolf’s piece on Epstein (https://naomiwolf.substack.com/p/the-network-in-the-worlds-of-the). In a description of why people continued to associate with Epstein after his conviction for child sex trafficking, she explains that their excuse was essentially ‘Well, everyone else is doing it.’ Quoting:

This psychology tends to take some root among any human group, but in Wolf’s (and my) opinion it is particularly strong among the “elite” and “cool” crowd, who know what social and political opinions they must hold and be seen and heard to hold.
There is a visceral hatred for Bathhouse Barry the ABC Cut Out…that is past well deserved and into the realm of revenge, justice, Karma among many…besides the facts that he is a Traitor and is being exposed.
Do not discount how easily and fickle the moon eyed TEE VEE watchers will turn on him once they realize the boyish smile and glib words are from the pit of hell…and who he really is – becomes undeniable.
