An own goal? Well, how about that. Won’t be to the first – or last – time that reliance on fancy military tech bit it’s adherents in the butt. Very uncommon to have a documented instance of it, though. Militaries and governments absolutely loath the revelation of such screw ups.

What you see in the video are Patriot interceptors (launched in pairs) malfunctioning. This is common with this system. When you have malfunctions like this, merely take the rockets back to Raytheon for a full refund.

Big Ruckus D nailed it – reliance on fancy technology has been the bane of more than one military.
We’ve seen fractals of this throughout history. AK vs. AR, T-55 vs Patton tabks, subs, planes, pick your platform. Fancy Patriot interceptor vs. Al-shaheed dumb drones by the boatload.
Quantity has a quality all its own.

In Theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In Practice, there is.
This is the real world. No do-overs!

This means we have to bail them out again and again and again. The defense contractors are singing Happy Days Are Here Again. Generations of radical nutjobs will be breeding terror for decades to come. Again… The defense contractors are singing Happy Days Are Here Again.
