If Only Southern Men Would…

I doubt that this country will survive intact after the fall. I thank God that I am in the South as opposed to anywhere else in FUSA.

Outstanding. I enjoyed the hell out of that and pretty much as I remember Memaw and the South. I miss the South.
I’ve been gone a long time and I miss southern living, women, manners, culture, outhouses, fireflies, respect, lunch after church, and the food. Hushpuppies, catfish for breakfast, greens, chicken, pie, and yeast cornbread. I made a point of dining at the finest restaurants around the world in my work, and none of them measure up to food prepared in the kitchen of a southern woman. Or, a real red-neck bbq’n bubba.
Damn, I’m homesick and you’re probably right Mr. D but I’m optimistic. I kept my Dixie cups and never got shed of my Stars and Bars.
The South is well worth fighting for, y’all. Let’s git’er done.
Thanks for posting.

Dana, you’re a great patriot! I was just thinking how I miss fireflies yesterday too. I guess they have caught most all of them now, for the use of luciferin out of them. Supposedly used in the RNA vac, 6.66 ml of luciferin! Crazy!

Thank you, sir. That’s very kind of you. I’ve read your comments and I know you are as well. In fact, only a Patriot would feel comfortable here. I tend to wax verbose whenever I become nostalgic. Happens more frequently now. The South is a particularly favorite subject and the only period of my 73 years I was truly happy. Catch a firefly for me, FLman, and I think I’ll go make cornbread for supper.

(this is old, and from an old forum, but the South… is the South. And I still feel the same way…)
My daughter is “Grits” -- girl raised in the South. My sons are sons of the South… “sweet potato pie and shut my mouth”. We moved west in ’10 for economic/family reasons, but we still pray at supper, we still say “yes ma’am” and “no sir”… and if you don’t care for that we don’t give a damn. When we first heard of the flag issue some have, we went online and ordered the Georgia state flag… the “real one”, with the stars and bars and the state seal… I honestly don’t know anymore what it’s gonna take, but I know that these communist folks will keep pushing until they get what they keep asking for… I will leave you with an old Gaelic toast… from the Scots/Irish that began the Southern heritage..

Slightly off topic, but their YT channel, It’s a Southern Thing is downright hilarious. Worth watching, quality entertainment. Trust me, you won’t be sorry.
