When I was a kid I thought JFK was the Antichrist (sarc). Three strikes – he was a Democrat, a Catholic, and worst of all … a Yankee.

What I later learned? War hero and possibly the last President who tried to do the right thing for our country. Flawed? Certainly. He was human. I wonder how different things would be today had he not been murdered.
He was considered a near saint in my family when I was a boy and all the problems going on in the early 1970’s were chalked up to his not being around to change things. When I grew up I changed my views to thinking that he screwed up in Cuba and elsewhere and was over rated.
My views have evolved again and it is abundantly clear that he was an early victim of the CIA/ZOG deepstate because he was trying to restore constitutional governance. He still had many personal faults, but those are secondary considerations and not my concern, we are all human.
THIS!
I was 8yo when he was assassinated and in the last 62years I’ve come to the conclusion that while I’ve never been close to being a democrat, his murder was the end of the Hallmark card America that I was growing up in.
Absolutely. I was a Junior in HS. After the initial shock, people started questioning the bogus Warren Report and other excuses. Trust in the FEDGOV eroded quickly when that war criminal, LBJ did the unthinkable and the country eventually came apart in the 1960’s. Ronny Rayguns and his minions tried to but a band-aid on the bullet wound, but too many of us were just too cynical and jaded. And here we are. Amerika ist verloren. Bleib ubrig.
same
Spot on!
Yep. Trying to maintain the silver standard, stay out of Vietnam, and anti-CIA. No telling who all was involved.
There was a pretty good summary of the extent of the assassination conspiracy somewhere on Ytube. I will have to go find it. Some of the clumsy ways the CIA was clearly involved were discussed, such as printing the Fair Play for Cuba flyers Oswald was given to hand out with an address for a known CIA front business. In other words, the fake pro-Cuba movement Oswald was working for was a CIA op.
Then there is the whole public record of Kennedy’s canceled trip to the 1963 Army/Navy game in Chicago 2 weeks before Dallas. The Secret Service had been tipped off by someone named “Lee” about a hit squad set to target the President’s moving motorcade. The amount of public record evidence combined with an equally large volume of facts that has been conveniently brushed off as coincidence by the studiously disinterested media suggests a full institutional level conspiracy.
His establishment of his brother’s DIA cause great consternation within the CIA and the intelligence community. The CIA knew they had to do something about JFK and it was decided that he had to go. Seems this is well known to NSA insiders.
I sure would like to see the source for that Kennedy quote.
Snopes contends it’s falsely attributed. Take that for what it’s worth as Snopes is, well you know, kinda a Lefty site.
Yeah, Snopes is a disgrace.
Unfortunately, taking a look at the quote again, it does not flow in the normal JFK high minded style. He never drew attention to himself in making a public political point for one thing, and the listing of all the specific interest groups he thought needed to be targeted was also out of character. All considered, this quote is a little too “folksy”, and sounds like something Bob DePugh would have written. The lack of attribution for where and when this was said also weighs in against it being authentic.
There is no source to give validation to this being an actual quote attributed to JFK.
While I feel the so-called quote is correct, and JFK’s ghost would agree, he absolutely never said that.
Forget Snopes. Both the Kennedy Library and the Heritage Foundation list it as a fake quote.
Our last President truly elected “By the People” all since have been “selected”. His great speech and warning of Secret Societies has come true: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97n-uqJC2Jw
As is Eisenhower’s on the rise of misplaced power:
It is interesting that Eisenhower, a former 5 Star General, and President Jason to Wait until Leaving office to warn the populace of the Deep State in 1960.
It’s Indicative of the Power of the DS and Its only Grown since then.
“Had to Wait”
And yet again you post a fake historical quote to promote your point. There is growing irony here that a true believer in the cinema definition of Occam’s Razor will not himself take the simplest and easiest path to the truth.
Yeah, Kennedy tried to do the right thing in many if not most cases – and he was an inspiration, but there is no need to lie about him.
Yet again? Can you point out another? I picked it up from a Telegram channel and have seen it multiple places today. Seemed legit. Sorry I’m not perfect. I’m the one who checked when a source was requested and offered that it was a false attribution. I guess you are perfect to make the snide attack. The quote does, however, offer truth even if it didn’t come from JFK’s lips.
I’m certainly not perfect but you can bet that every time I post a factoid or a quote, I have the source material to back it up. In that way, I have never posted a fake factoid or quote.
The North Carolina University system has many, many faults and many wrongheaded policies but here is one thing they got right. When students, professors, and staff are discussing something on the university intranets and a quote is posted, the source of the quote must accompany the quote itself. You should try it. It is a simple thing.
It was a meme for heaven sakes. Not a term paper.
You make my point for me.
“It was just a little wrong thing. I only misled people a little bit. It was unintentional. Besides, everyone does it so we can let it slide” Yeah, right. Got it.
Whether a meme or a blurb or a term paper or a speech or a simple statement, “truth” is always the byword of the day. Most people used to know this. But of course, this is the here and now; sorry you are not one of those people.
Inattention to the small things ALWAYS leads to larger wrongs.
On this site and so many others, we take the leftists, socialists, and worse – to task for the horrors they promote and especially for the false nonsense they spout. But then some of us turn right around and do the very same thing. Doing such at any level is hypocrisy, and is intrinsically wrong. At the very least, we owe it to those who are with us to try to be accurate and to do the right thing. Intellectual and physical laziness are nothing but sad rationalizations. I sincerely hope you did better for your kids.
Say whatever else you like; I’m done.
Agree or disagree on what JFK said but I for one would have liked to have seen what our world would be like today if his Presidency went full term. I remember my mom crying the day he died. Such sorrow. I recall them saying he was killed to prevent a dynasty in the Presidency. And the killing of his brother and the death of John Jr. makes one wonder. The shock if his death can still be felt when you listen to his speeches. The whole country mourned. The term “What If” comes to mind just thinking about it. Except for Jesus of course, how many other people can we say this about in history? There is a hidden hand that removes anyone who challenges the path we are on. Is it God’s hand or Satan’s? I don’t know. I’ll ask God when my time comes. Until then I’ll cherish God’s gift of life and try to live up to his expectations.
“Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you.” – Ps 122:6
Well human nature changes little. Trump gets vilified today But hopefully this Quote on JFKs picture isn’t put on Trumps picture in another 20 years.
Critical People btw, seldom Accomplish much of anything beneficial other than bloviating…. and Expecting 1 man to change their lives for them.
