Imagine the Unimaginable

h/t Comment Section

By Victor Davis Hanson

When revolutionaries undermine the system, earn the antipathy of the people, face looming disaster at the polls, it is then they prove most dangerous—as we’ll see over the next few months.

Americans are now entering uncharted, revolutionary territory. They may witness things over the next five months that once would have seemed unimaginable.

Until the Ukrainian conflict, we had never witnessed a major land war inside Europe directly involving a nuclear power.

In desperation, Russia’s impaired and unhinged leader Vladimir Putin now talks trash about the likelihood of nuclear war.

A 79-year-old Joe Biden bellows back that his war-losing nuclear adversary is a murderer, a war criminal, and a butcher who should be removed from power.

After a year of politicizing the U.S. military and its self-induced catastrophe in Afghanistan, America has lost deterrence abroad. China, Iran, North Korea, and Russia are conniving how best to exploit this rare window of global military opportunity.

The traditional bedrocks of the American system—a stable economy, energy independence, vast surpluses of food, hallowed universities, a professional judiciary, law enforcement, and a credible criminal justice system—are dissolving.

Gas and diesel prices are hitting historic levels. Inflation is at a 40-year high. New cars and homes are unaffordable. The necessary remedy of high interest and tight money will be almost as bad as the disease of hyperinflation.

There is no southern border.

Expect over 1 million foreign nationals to swarm this summer into the United States without audit, COVID testing, or vaccination. None will have any worry of consequences for breaking U.S. immigration law.

Police are underfunded and increasingly defunded. District attorneys deliberately release violent criminals without charges. (Literally 10,000 people witnessed a deranged man with a knife attack comedian Dave Chappelle on stage at the Hollywood Bowl last week, and the Los Angeles County D.A. refused to press felony charges.) Murder and assault are spiraling. Carjacking and smash-and-grab thefts are now normal big-city events.

Crime is now mostly a political matter. Ideology, race, and politics determine whether the law is even applied.

Supermarket shelves are thinning, and meats are now beyond the budgets of millions of Americans. An American president—in a first—casually warns of food shortages. Baby formula has disappeared from many shelves.

Politics resembles the violent last days of the Roman Republic. An illegal leak of a possible impending Supreme Court reversal of Roe v. Wade that would allow state voters to set their own abortion laws has created a national hysteria.

“Russia’s impaired and unhinged leader Vladimir Putin” Lost me right there. Putin is a lot of things but not those two. Just as Biden is much worse than “79 year old.”

Agreed. Putin has acted as rationally as possible. There is little else he could have done differently considering the circumstances the US put him in.

He’s been pretty laid back all in all . mostly avoiding civilian casualties, massive destruction and trying to work around sanctions and the like instead of responding by cutting off the fuel entirely. And yes Russia can do that. Its about 20 billion out of 1.4 trillion GDP
The nuke threats though are needful as the US tends to get high on its own supply when it comes to propaganda. Russia is very far from weak.
Hell US idiots write op eds about “winning a nuclear war.” best they understand they can’t fight such a war, hide anywhere or anything of the sort

The puppet biden cannot even bath himself let alone govern a nation, how much longer do we wait? One of their hero’s called for a call to arms, when one of us do the same it strikes fear into people’s hearts. We cannot organize because of fear, are we that cowardly? People say here on this platform that a lot of geriatric old folks are attracted to this site, I guess I am one of those at 71yrs old. Well then maybe an army of geriatrics can unite and fight, I am all in for a call to arms of we the geriatrics.

Tom, we all know whom many of the administrators of the NWO are whether local, state, federal or global if that is what you mean when referring to the enemy. We also know many of their devotees. How many thousands of them do you think there are? And how would you propose we eliminate them? Mind you, I’m not Jason Bourne or John Wick; so, I really have no idea how to go about carrying out such an operation. I can only speculate what might be involved on a human level. Jurgen Conings probably had the best opportunity to deal with only one enemy as he was well trained. Unfortunately, he disappeared into the woodwork and committed suicide (at least that’s what they say). I think Seal Team 6 would consider the operation a waste of time. And, with the leaks from the state department so prevalent, it would end with a copter being blown up. But I can assure you that one day the matter will be resolved. At least that’s what the bible says. Meanwhile…we have more immediate problems.
We live among millions of desolate souls who are two steps away from oblivion. When the feeding frenzy starts, that will be our immediate threat. Some are people who wish only to live. Many others are, and always have been, nothing more than predators. Then there is us. We try to navigate through the morass of humanity as best we can while facing the situations presented to us. We avoid confronting the obvious, most of the time, due to uncertainty as to how we should act or react. That’s why so many opportunities have been missed over the many past decades. That also applies to our daily activities with family, friends, job and everything in between. But all that is past history much like our own lives as we look back.
I, and many of us, have family scattered to the four winds. There is no way I can be of any use to them when trouble knocks. Even worse, they aren’t interested in the things we discuss on this site. Any action I take from here on in must be solely and directly related to me and me alone. It cannot reflect on my family members and friends to avoid passing my consequences on to them. They are on their own and have to answer for their actions – not mine. We are presently governed by psychopaths who are not opposed to transferring my sins onto anyone associated with me.
That is why I say we should wait until we are directly confronted by our adversaries. We could be anywhere when that happens – at home, on the road or among family and friends or the workplace. Once the hunger games begin, the situation will change. The resulting free-for-all will force people to band together when previously they did not. That is when you will know the enemy locally and within a fifty-mile radius. Why is that important?
It’s important because that’s the territory you’re familiar with. Beyond that range you are in foreign territory. Without logistics, planning, and a small company of well-prepared companions you will be operating in the dark. Most of us are limited as to where we can operate effectively. My case is a good example. I cannot hide my identity. Everything about me is too recognizable. It’s better that I operate in surroundings where people already know me. That might, at least, give me some form of support. But, let’s look at the big picture to see what might be possible.
When the chaos starts and the zombies appear like bats out of hell, everything changes. Opportunities present themselves. Consider, for instance, that the country will go into full lockdown. And every form of security will be established to contain the masses. That’s good (depending on how you look at it) because we will now have opportunities to carry out underground activities boldly. That’s when everything is on the table. All that equipment we long for will be up for grabs. And think of what can be accomplished with it. Since we don’t have a sugar daddy to supply us, we can locate and take what we need. No, it won’t be easy; but it’s doable. All the items that are in short supply or non-existent to us will be accessible from our enemy. Uncle Joe said, “If you wanted or if you think you need to have weapons to take on the government, you need F-15s and maybe some nuclear weapons.” Well, there you are; except that I don’t know how to operate either. It’s the thought that counts.
Anyway, don’t think for a minute that some of us consider these things out of fear. We just want to be a bit more strategic to avoid going off half-cocked. Everyone dies sooner or later including those who think they are special. That’s the beauty of not living forever. A lot of us identify with the bible as our guide. It’s unfortunate that we have so many interpretations. Be that as it may; I can only say that we are on a collision course with destiny. It won’t be easy; but it’s doable. Happy hunting.

I respect your opinion; I just believe we need to organize ASAP, a lot of the things you stated I agree with. But except for the waiting, how did antifa or blm organize? I am an old infantry man, joined the army in 1968, you would be amazed at what a squad or platoon of armed guerillas could accomplish. I do not wish to rush head long to my death but considering our circumstances I would rather die on my feet than on my knees. It is that close now, here where I live we have more than a dozen militias that have closed ranks. I wish you well and Gods speed.

If we could organize a platoon in each city in our counties across the nation, we would be ready. A platoon is anywhere from 16 to 44 people.

I appreciate your response and feel better about where you stand. Thank you for that. As for BLM/Antifa, they were heavily sponsored and funded and encouraged with impunity from prosecution to act much like the brown shirts of Germany. We, of course, do not have that advantage. Regarding militias, this area is not even in a position to establish one except for the possibility of doing so under the conditions I earlier mentioned. Sometimes it takes a slap across the face with a glove to stimulate the arteries. BTW, I’m almost 83. Yeah, an old geezer.

I’m 70, armed, pissed off, ready to have at it. You don’t have to be 25 and athletic to find some decent cover and sent some rounds down range. Personally I can’t stomach the thought of going down without a fight.
