During the great depression stories told by my Grandparents told of folks “Buying” other folks’ homes by paying their taxes so they still had a home. Folks that fell behind in home-farm payments or taxes found themselves homeless unless other folks took them in as family or sharecroppers.
Those pictures of desperate people wearing old, battered clothing heading west or anywhere a rumor of a job existed are correct. Plenty of folks still remembered the GREAT WAR (WW1) and had No interest in Europe’s troubles. A fair number of volunteers for the military when War broke out were so malnourished over those years, they couldn’t pass physicals. A paying job and 3 hots and a cot looked great.
We are going to see this and worse. Learn how to grow food, I’ve been a gentleman farmer for two decades and I am still learning. Learn how to secure safe water, repair your home and deal with sanitation.
Klaus Schwab’s father was a Nazi that ran his business with slave labor. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Pray for wisdom

No problem if you’re in the military. I’ve seen HGTV episodes of military families looking on different Hawaii islands with their housing “budget”. It’s all part of that obscene $780 billion “defense” budget that gets passed every time.

Yankee go home, after moving to the Ozarks fifty years ago, I told old yankee friends how bad it was here, hoping that they would stay there, they did.
We don’t need any more damyankees, I know I are one, but I have tried to change my ways.
Most of them will bring their city attitudes, they can’t help it.
There is likely to be a fight soon between the left and right, city, rural, we don’t need the enemy down here, no matter how much money they bring. If they are patriots, I will welcome them no matter where thay are from, their religon or race!
Obviously I have too much time on my hands. Thanks for a place to vent!

I’m a renter. I’ve lived in the same town for 30 years. Most of the home owners I know in town don’t want to get involved. They refuse to report criminal activity. Had a neighbor tell us that she watched a guy try to break into our garage. She didn’t call us or the cops. She just wanted to let us know that it happened. A day too late. Go to the village board meetings. No home owners there. A couple of us from the apartments are the only ones there. Some one has to bitch at the Mayor. We just had a large real estate tax increase. It was for an expansion of the local school building. The town is becoming more hispanic every year. So the home owners are paying to educate the migrants. But keep your eye on the renters.
