There was a reason the Green Machine went from rock and roll to three-round bursts on the later editions of the M-16. That being said, the lower cyclic rate of full auto firearms such as the UZI (which I have shot) and the 45 ACP “grease gun” have a definite niche in the grunt’s arsenal. For home defense, however, I prefer a shotgun, which I always relied on as a working Deputy Sheriff. A shotgun lends dignity to what otherwise would be a vulgar brawl. Bleib ubrig.

And they went right back to full auto because that 3-round burst mechanism was utterly retarded. Yes, I’ve shot both the M16A1 and A2. The A2 would have been perfection without that 3-round burst.
