A friend asked me how to clean some old rounds. They seemed to be corroded from improper storage. Is there a way she can make these usable without ruining anything inside her firearms? I figured some vinegar or baking soda might help, but we seem to find mixed opinions online. Seems best advice so far was using ” a fine brillo pad and high grit sand paper with plain water”
Interested if others have any advice. 🙏🇱🇷💪
Bought some Portugese surplus 7.62 years ago. Some of the rounds were corroded. I used some brass polish, fine steel woll and a towel and they cleaned up nicely, mostly the surface greenish gunk, could scrape it off with your fingernail. If the corrosion is pink, do not use them. The pink stuff can compromise the case. That is what I did based on my own research. Your milage may vary.
