9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’
13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
Consider “we” is very much this Nation, God judges Nations
I agree with you. None of us are innocent of what has happened to God’s Nation. There is always a way to stand for God and never stand by the wayside, believing you had no part in this. By being a Pharisee, you are saluting and welcoming the enemy succeeding.

We are told…Be still and know that I am God, Fear is not from God and Do not worry. Worrying is not from God. Faithful people need to pray without ceasing for our nation, our leaders, our families. Nothing is impossible with God but He gave us choices. If we choose to whine and do not operate within His instruction, we are no better that our oppressors and therefore just as complicit in what we receive. Petty grievances like…Well, I didn’t do it or cause it… is the enemy whispering in our ear that the fault belongs to others. We are in this condition by standing by which is just as guilty as participating. We are all guilty if we do not seek the face of our Lord, ask for forgiveness for our nation, love our neighbors and ask God to please not hide his face from us. Then we cannot sit by and wait for God to do everything. We must reach out to the people whose minds have been captured by the enemy. Be the faithful servant and leader you are called to be.
