I have watched a few lives seemingly self destruct because of a refusal to follow the Lord. From poor life choices over and over to blatant hostility toward Him, the response is a storm of bad events….if you are being sought by Him.
Eventually that person may see the “Light” and surrender, sometimes not.
We sometimes think it is our responsibility to ease their suffering. We sometimes think it is our job to “save” someone. Neither is the case, we are simply to tell the truth and offer the good news. It is God, Christ who does the work of salvation.
My daughter is one such person, proof that being raised with all the “right” methods…homeschooled, taught values, morality and a strong work ethic….does not mean that they will as adults remain servants of the Lord. By “helping” them in their rebellion we would undermine the correction of the Lord.
Love them, but pray for their correction to be accepted and for their life to be surrendered to the love and redemption of Christ.
Agree,
We must allow them to go on their own and Trust and pray that He will protect them and guide them. i believe many of us went through a defiant stage?
