This is the faction of the Founders who regarded the 1787 Constitution as too weak and likely to be ineffective over time as a brake on federal power. They were right, it is the AF we have to thank for the Bill of Rights being added in 1791. Where would we be today if the AF had not insisted on this compromise? Good points. The southern colonies would have never ratified the Constitution without the Bill of Rights.
