No Town Halls Again for Renee Ellmers but She Has Time to Meet Illegal Aliens in Asheboro

Congresswoman Renee Ellmers

August 11, 2013

Dear Friend,

I’m so happy to be back home in the Second District this month!

The Congressional recess provides me the opportunity to spend invaluable time listening to the concerns of the men, women and families across my district.

Last week, I spoke to the Mary Stewart Lions Club in Dunn and visited the NC Defense & Economic Development Trade Show in Fayetteville. You’ll find some photos from those events below, and more information and photos on Facebook and Flickr.

I also spent time this week in my district office in Asheboro, where I enjoyed meeting families from the Second District and listening to their concerns.  An immigration rally that took place outside my Asheboro office provided me the opportunity to hear from families on the all important topic of immigration reform, and I couldn’t be more proud to hear how passionate they are about America.

Serving the people of the Second District is a very humbling honor, including the opportunity to represent the many veterans who have honorably served our country in varied capacities. Wednesday was National Purple Heart Appreciation Day — a perfect opportunity to thank our wounded veterans for the sacrifices they have made for our country.

My office has worked with the Veterans Legacy Foundation tohonor veterans for military service-related action not previously recognized — helping them to receive the awards they earned and deserve. To find out about these and other services my office provides to veterans visit ellmers.house.gov/veterans.

In addition to the assistance we provide to veterans, my office may be able to help if you are having trouble with a federal agency, requesting tours and tickets for a visit to Washington DC, are trying to find out if federal grants are available for your project, or you are considering applying to a military academy. Information about the types of services and help my office may be able to provide is available on my website at ellmers.house.gov.

Even though Congress is in recess, I continue to work on the issues that are important to you and your family. This week, I discussed the latest on Obamacare on the Bill LuMaye show. If you missed that interview, click here to listen to it online.

I also continued to update constituents with the latest news reports on Obamacare implementation by posting links on myFacebook and Twitter sites.

Find more information about my work in Congress, the issues mentioned above, and more, on my social media sites using the links provided in the right sidebar. I hope you will also share this newsletter by forwarding it to your friends.

Blowing off constituents, refusing to hold town hall meetings to discuss issues with citizens. Voting according to Republican leadership directives, against the people of NC. So much for ‘representation.’ Ms. Ellmers needs to be primaried.
