Yes, I too am missing the circumstances that support the aforementioned concern. A bit more detail please.
According to an item in the Federal Register dated 01/25/2024, Reagan International and several other majors in the DC/NYC corridor will have temporary closures due to runway maintenance/repair through the end of the year. Yesterday, the main runway was closed all day. This eliminates a large proportion of cargo and jumbo passenger planes that need the longest runway.
