Obama Sending 250 More US Troops to Syria; In Iraq, Footprint Has Been Growing For Two Years

President Obama, speaking in Germany on Monday, announced that he plans to send another 250 troops to Syria, the latest in a series of incremental deployments of forces over the past two years to help in the fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS/ISIL).

“A small number of American Special Operations forces are already on the ground in Syria, and their expertise has been critical as local forces have driven ISIL out of key areas. So given the success, I’ve approved the deployment of up to 250 additional U.S. personnel  in Syria, including special forces,  to keep up this momentum.

“They’re not going to be leading the fight on the ground, but they will be essential in providing the training and assisting local forces that continue to drive ISIL back.”

Is the country’s fight overseas or here? I agree with Sam Culper, it is time to defend the country on our on soil. Against domestic enemies.

This is not all the pRes’s doing. This is from the prompting nagging of congress. Lots of heads of both the house and the senate and all their security committees have their palms greased by the major contractors that supply our mil with heavy equipment and logistics and don’t forget the natural resources of fossil fuels.
There is lots of money to be made as long as our boots are on the ground. So they send them in to make a few more billion. Supply and demand.
