Hey Wes, We were originally founded as a Representative Republic not a democracy. Correct me if I am wrong.

@Wes_Rhiner I had forgotten about the entire video being online, otherwise I might not have posted it. The reason I liked it is because it is short (for the thousands of hours of video content created every day, so far I have not figured out how to watch more than a few hours at most, and this is usually when I should be working).
To all of our friends: Stay the course. Fight on. Give yourselves, your family members, your friends, your colleagues, neighbors and members of your communities the best Christmas present ever… The survival of the greatest nation ever to have existed on earth, one founded by the Godly men to who pledged their lives, fortunes and sacred honor to it.
Merry Christmas!
@oldtimer505 We are a Representative Republic as you said, with a democratic form of government. IOW, our representatives are [allegedly] elected by us, which makes it democratic. People, even on the right, especially if they are younger, call it a democracy, which, as you implied, is not factually correct, but the meaning is clear in his message. I am not suggesting that we let it slide, or allow this language to replace accurate language, but a factual error does not negate the message IMO.
Hammers Thor: I reread my post and can see that I was a bit curt which I didn’t intend to be. I agree with your post in that current usage is commonly used to describe our form of governance. The fact that we allow a slow decay in our descriptions, language and definitions of words has helped bring us to this point in time IMO. Like I said, I intended not disrespect to Wes or any of the posters here. I was simply trying to make a point and found myself running to fast this day.
That said, Merry Christmas to everyone here. Let us all enjoy our family and friends.

You are absolutely correct. And, I was running a bit fast today as well, with the snow coming and things undone, so my apologies for the tone of my message. You are right that we should be accurate in our language, ESPECIALLY with regard to our Constitution.
Let us pray for God’s grace upon our nation. Additionally, I am going to ask for His strength to keep myself civil in these uncivil times. God Bless You, and God Bless Everyone Here.
Merry Christmas!
