Our Political Elite Have No Solutions

See additional comments on Tea Party Nation.

Only a fool would argue that our country is not bankrupt. Which begs the question of the quality and intentions of our political elite class. They provide no solutions to the problems that they have made except for two constants: spending more money and telling us that they know what they are doing.

The reality of these policies in their minds is simple: more bread and circuses.

“Bread and available circuses” has become a convenient general term for government policies that seek short-term solutions to public unrest.

The hard choices which we face will not be addressed. Washington will print more money to devalue the fruits of our labor and redistribute it in a “benevolent” fashion to buy more votes and appease the masses.

And then what? They have kicked the can down the road to the inevitable wall. Once the masses understand their true position, the illusion of freedom that we have will quickly be shown to be nothing more than tyranny. The reality of the militarization of the police is documented on a daily basis.

The article below showing that the political class will continue to try to spend its way out of its incompetence proves that they are also morally bankrupt. They truly are the domestic enemies that we were warned about who have destroyed our country from within.

Washington is ready to spend

Washington wants to spend more.

Just four years ago, the nation’s rapidly expanding debt was seen as Washington’s number one crisis.

When House Republicans took the majority in 2011, they made it their overarching mission to rein in spending. Together with the White House, they agreed to limit spending for the next decade by the use of budget caps.
Now those spending ceilings are unpopular with members of both parties.

Pressure to break them is coming from all sides, and building.

“We’re living with just really low numbers without any wiggle room, any flexibility,” Rep. Kay Granger (R-Texas), one appropriations subcommittee chairwoman, told The Hill.

“Particularly in foreign operations, or defense, or some of the others, it’s really difficult.”

There are plenty of causes that members believe deserve more money.
