The outbreak of Covid-19 in China, South Korea, Japan, Iran, Italy, and other parts of Europe and the Americas has likely “met another of the conditions within the trigger mechanism of the World Bank’s pandemic catastrophe bond transaction, raising the chance that noteholders face losses in the coming weeks,” reported Artemis, a market intelligence firm with the focus on catastrophe bonds.
The World Bank’s $320 million IBRD CAR 111-112 pandemic catastrophe bond issue supports its Pandemic Emergency Financing Facility (PEF), is now at risk of default as the virus rapidly spreads across the world.

Dr Michael Ryan, executive director of the WHO Health Emergencies Programme, told a press conference the coronavirus outbreak is not a pandemic.
He said: “A pandemic is a unique situation which we believe that all citizens on the planet will likely be exposed to a virus within a defined period of time.
“If this was influenza, we would have probably have called this as a pandemic by now but what we’ve seen of this virus is that with containment measures and a robust public health response the course of this epidemic or multiple epidemics can be significantly altered.
“To declare a pandemic; it is unhelpful to do that when you’re still trying to contain a disease.”
He added: “If we say there is a pandemic of coronavirus we are essentially accepting every human on the planet will be exposed to that virus and the data does not support that as yet and China have clearly shown that is not necessarily the natural outcome of this event if we take action.
“That does not have to be the history of this event but if we don’t take action…that may be a future we have to experience and we have to endure.”

Mexico confirms first 2 cases of coronavirus
There are many misconceptions concerning COVID-19 mainly because our leaders are not capable of addressing a biological threat. Their concern for the stock market has some merit but even if the virus burned out today, the economic consequences may have already become fixed.
But here is a fact that we should never accept: the Democrats are more concerned with making this a political issue than keeping the people safe from this virus. And in typical fashion, the Republicans react to their claims as another political cat fight begins. The difference in this case is the end result: millions of dead Americans because the issue is not addressed.
There is another difference in what has now become a political issue: this is the only issue that has not been created by our “leaders”. Since they are impotent on how to address it, hopefully we can learn that a few hundred leaders should not be running our lives. Especially when the stakes are our lives.
Steps to take:
There are many other steps that need to be already underway such as production of antibiotics in the country. There is no excuse for someone dying of a bacterial infection due to a critical supply chain pathway to China that should never have been allowed to happen.
Let us see if the government will recognize the severity of this pandemic or continue to put the insatiable quest for power over everything else.

Hawaii is urging residents to prepare for a potential breakout of Covid-19 amid new warnings earlier this week from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that the deadly virus quickly spreading across the world could cause a “significant disruption” to American life.
Although there are no confirmed virus cases in Hawaii (the state Health Department says 80 people are self-monitoring for the coronavirus in Hawaii after recent travel to China), the CDC’s warning sparked a buying frenzy among residents this week as they emptied store shelves of food and supplies.

Paul could have said here, “Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect?” and then answered, “No one! We are justified.” That’s true. But that is not what he said. His answer instead is, “God is the one who justifies.”
The emphasis is not on the act but on the Actor.
Why? Because in the world of courts and laws where this language comes from, the acquittal of a judge might be overturned by a higher one.
So what, if a local judge acquits you, when you are guilty, if a governor has the right to bring a charge against you? So what, if a governor acquits you, when you are guilty, if the emperor can bring a charge against you?
Here’s the point: Above God, there are no higher courts. If God is the one who acquits you — declares you righteous in his sight — no one can appeal; no one can claim a technicality; no one can call for a mistrial; no one can look for other counts against you. God’s sentence is final and total.
Hear this, all you who believe on Jesus, and become united to Christ, and show yourself among the elect: God is the one who justifies you. Not a human judge. Not a great prophet. Not an archangel from heaven. But God, the Creator of the world and Owner of all things and Ruler of the universe and every molecule and person in it, God is the one who justifies you.
The point: unshakable security in the face of tremendous suffering. If God is for us, no one can successfully be against us. If God gave his Son for us, he will give us everything that is good for us. If God is the one who justifies us, no charge against us can stand.
The situation with the coronavirus is quickly going from bad to worse. Hundreds of cases breaking out across the world, dozens of new deaths. And, of course, these are just the official numbers.
Many countries have inadequate/non-existent testing procedures, so the true numbers may be quite a bit higher. As covid-19 continues to rip through the EU, Iran and South Korea, the US has just announced its first case of “communal infection”, meaning the virus may now be endemic here, as well.

If we use the low end rate of infected as Harvard estimates to be 40%, the number drops down to 106,080,000. But let’s go back to the original premise, Republicans are not as well educated as the opposition. Do not get me wrong: education rarely equates to high character. And very few politicians on either side have high character. The opposition is using COVID-19 for political purposes. The administration is not qualified to handle this crisis as their actions have proven. As we move into the Fourth Turning, our confidence in our institutions and governments is collapsing as predicted. I just want to have you consider how many people must die in order to keep the world’s economies from collapsing? Even when economic collapse is inevitable?
