In the past few days, Colorado counties have pushed back hard against so-called “red flag” laws that would allow the confiscation of weapons through the Emergency Risk Protection Orders (ERPO’s), or in the Colorado Legislature, HB19-1177.

In response, three Colorado counties, Fremont, Montezuma and Custer, have already passed resolutions making it illegal for law enforcement and corrections institutions to use tax funds to enforce the law, before it is even passed or signed into law.

That these counties have recycled the term “sanctuary” to describe their resolutions hints at the overreach of sanctuary city laws recently passed throughout the nation. The difference between the two different types of sanctuaries is that in the case of sanctuary cities, they were passed intending to thwart federal and state law.

The resolutions passed by Fremont, Montezuma and Custer Counties establish a sanctuary for LEGAL gun ownership and defense of the Fourth Amendment protections against illegal searches and seizures.

These are not insignificant technicalities, these are fundamental issues that have long since been relegated to a back seat in the law-maing process. Constitutional rights are required to be addressed by Constitutional amendments, not local laws, not made up emergencies to require sacrifice without due process.

But, the interesting and inspiring aspect to the county resolutions, is that these three counties are not the least or the last.  Several other Colorado counties have sought instruction and information about these resolutions and the legal process by which to institute them.

This is just the first turnabout for the lawlessness demonstrated by Democrat led municipalities throughout the nation. The door is open and it only takes the thousands of conservative counties that voted for Donald Trump to start dismantling unconstituional federal and state laws through similar sanctuary resolutions.

Very simply, if the courts can establish precedent for localities that violate federal law with impunity in an effort to flood the United States with illegal immigrant voters there is legal standing for conservative counties to pass resolutions that UPHOLD federal law and Constitutional protections against pernicious state laws.

The challenge, really, is to get some otherwise slacking patriots to pick up their friends and neighbors, go to their county commission and demand that all unconstitutional laws are similary addressed with sanctuary laws.

I am very familiar with Custer County and for those who can find no other activism than militaristic shoot-em-ups, Custer County residents have that base covered, but they have also gone to the ballot box to recall two of three county commissioners recalled and replaced with strident conservatives.

It is possible to have two tactics to achieve the same goal. It is possible to bludgeon them with legal and legislative actions while at the same time preparing for the invasion of the county. It is possible to begin the great break-up through county-wide activism.

The thing many people have failed to digest is that Donald Trump won over 2,600 counties nationwide while Hillary Clinton won 88 of the 100 largest counties.

If it still vexes one about where to go or what to do, consider counties and how to take a decisive action there. No fear that you will be by-passed when the festivities start.

As I drove from Pensacola to Tallahassee, Florida, I listened to Mister Cohen’s testimony regarding the alleged services he provided to Mr. Trump. The U.S. House of Representatives sat in session for the first time on April 1, 1789. Only once in the subsequent 230 years has an individual, who has been convicted of lying to congress been called to testify again. You guessed it that would be Mr. Cohen.

The Democrats have been touting the allegation that Trump somehow colluded with Russia leading up to the presidential election. Congressional hearings have been devoted to proving that allegation. They haven’t. Mr. Mueller has invested millions of taxpayer dollars in an effort to prove the allegation. He didn’t.

Since all the Democrats have is their complete hatred for Trump they have to keep chipping away on the collusion theory. It’s all they have. Granted, Trump isn’t a sweetheart of a guy. He is a product of the rough and tumble major construction industry in New York City. His biggest crime is that he isn’t Obama. He doesn’t bow to dictators or apologize for our successes. For that matter he isn’t Bush, 41 or 43. When someone or some entity hits Trump he hits back. Typically he hits harder on the counterpunch. Trump wages Twitter wars, says things he often shouldn’t say, and can be rude and crude. As many people love him as hate him. And for the same reason, he is a fighter. A no holds barred, piss on Marquis of Queensberry rules, brawler.

Politicians in general hate him because he doesn’t prevaricate, doesn’t claim tartan as his favorite color, and doesn’t apologize for saying what he thinks. Trump is an abnormality in the political world. And the run-of-the-mill politician simply doesn’t know how to understand or deal with Trump. Perhaps that’s why forty-four Republicans went back home during the mid-term elections.

As I listened to Cohen’s testimony I heard at least a few new lies. He said that he had never expressed any desire to work in the White House. Court Proper’s indicated he stated otherwise in previous testimony. He said he had contact with foreign agents. His Proper said otherwise. He said that Trump had no interest in winning the 2016 presidential election. Shortly thereafter he said Trump would do anything to get elected. One would think that, given that some of the Democrats are lawyers, they wouldn’t ask Cohen a question when they didn’t already know the answer. But they did. Some of Cohen’s follow-on comments did more to exonerate Trump than to indict him.

Some of the questions that Congresswoman Speir asked were the unsubstantiated stuff of tabloids. She wanted to know if Cohen had seen the video of Trump striking The First Lady in an elevator. Cohen said he hadn’t and didn’t believe Trump would do that. The next question alluded to the tabloid claim that Trump had fathered a love child. Thankfully she stopped short of suggesting Trump had sex with a Martian. The congresswoman lowered herself to a common distributor of salacious gossip. Such is the Democrats unbridled hatred of all things Trump.

Don’t misunderstand the motive of these hearings. This had nothing to do with revealing that Trump has violated any federal statute. The goal is drag him through the mud and hope that some sticks. Most people, now that the economy is improving, are working. If you’re working, you can’t watch cable TV all day long. ABC, CBS, NBC, and liberal cable channels will cherry pick some sound bites that were unflattering to Trump and only air them. That will be all most people hear and see.

The lies, distortions, and misrepresentation of facts exposed during the hearing will never see the light of day on the evening news, 24 hours liberal cable news, or liberal print media.

Finally Cohen made a closing statement which was merely a lecture regarding the conduct of Trump. I was left wondering how a man, who has been convicted of a federal tax felony, lying to congress, and other misdeeds, would have the gall to lecture anyone on anything regarding ethics or morals. I suspect most of the written statement, testimony, and closing lecture was choreographed by Lanny Davis. I wonder if the Dems understand the meaning of backlash?

We spend so much time and energy prepping for the end of civilization that sometimes we forget that we already live in a very dangerous world. I was reminded of a story I had read that illustrates this in a horrifying way. Stay armed, always. Have a carbine or AR/AK pistol in your car, always. Keep your eyes on everything around you, not on your phone, always. There are predators among us. Evil exists.

I am in the process of moving to North Dakota from North Carolina. It is 30 hours of just driving time, so when I do drive, I start early, around 7 or 8 am, and drive until around 0200. I do that for the 3 days it takes for each leg.

Anyways, I have for the most part really enjoyed the drives and places/ people I see or meet.

Until last weekend’s trip back to North Dakota.

I was driving back up here with a pickup truck full of gear and two very nervous and yappy dogs. These dogs bark at everything, and have never met a stranger. Very playful dogs, and they would much rather get their ears scratched than guard something, or even act like they have a backbone.

I was getting ready to call it a night. I was someplace in Wisconsin, just following the GPS, had no clue where I was. Saw the sign for the rest area right up ahead and decided I would pull in there for a few hours of sleep. There were no cars in the lot besides mine. I pulled into the very north end of the trucker lot

Put the two pooches on the leash and let them out of the truck for a walk before sleep. We walked all over the lot for them to burn off some energy, and they were enjoying the smells of the animals.

My dogs were sniffing at one bush and acting a little weird, but I didn’t put too much into it. They finally decided a better smell was coming from somewhere else and started pulling on the leash to go check it out. Turned to the north and gone about 50 yards when all of a sudden, the hairs on my neck stood up and… something was just wrong. Just a flat out bad feeling that hit instantly. Hadn’t felt like that since leaving Afghanistan.

I turn around, and a dude is walking out of the trees right where we had just left from. There is NOTHING around this truck stop from what I could tell. There are NO other vehicles around, and this dude is just walking out of the trees.

When I turned, he started to stop very abruptly, but then just kept walking. Straight at me and the dogs. Very oily in his movements if that makes sense. Had his right hand in his pocket and raised his left hand in kind of a wave. Dressed in ratty clothes and the aura coming of this guy was just plain bad news.

Then, my two dogs caught his scent and went ballistic. They were trying to run AWAY from this guy. Doing a scared little scream/whine thing and trying to tear loose from the leashes to get away. Then, he started talking ” Nice doggies… Sweet puppies.. ” Stuff like that. I told him to stop and keep his distance as I start backing away, trying not to trip over my terrified and squirming dogs. I have never seen them act this way towards anything or anyone. He says ” I wanna pet the dogs”. NO you aren’t petting my dogs. You aren’t coming near us. Stop where you are, or go the other direction, but don’t come near us, or get between me and my truck!

” Oh, brother, but I just wanna talk to ya.” Stay over there, and talk, but quit approaching us. Meanwhile, his right hand, that is in his pocket, is making furtive moves while he’s waving his left hand as a distractor. He’s about 50 feet away now. I tell him I ain’t messin’ around, he needs to quit coming closer because he is making me nervous. He keeps talking in that fake soothing voice people do when they are trying to ingratiate themselves with you.

Now, he’s about 30 or so feet away, and I can see his demeanor changing, like he’s coiling for a leap or sprint. He pulled his right hand out of his pocket but up into his coat sleeve, and he had something in it. I quit backing up, let go of the dog leash that is in my right hand, and put my hand on my Kimber, releasing the safety but not drawing yet. I am still trying to back away. The dog I still have ahold of will run for MILES if she gets off leash.

I tell him ” Dude, you need to stop or I’m going to defend myself”. He pauses, does a little head cock, grins an absolutely EVIL grin, and takes another step. I draw the gun.

He says ” Oh, yes…..”

Let go of the other dog leash, two hand clasp, and take a step towards him. I tell him ” I will kill you if you come any closer”. He starts backing up, and saying “Hey man, I was just wanting to talk with you and pet the dogs.” However, that’s NOT what his body language is telling me. He was sizing the situation up, and started moving to the side going between me and my truck.. I tell him the time for talk is over. I start moving at a diagonal to put myself back between him and my truck. I tell him ” I’m going to my truck. If you follow me, I’ll take it as a threat. If you move at all towards me as I’m getting me or these dogs in the truck, I’ll take it as a threat. I will kill you”.

He turned his back to me and sprinted to the woods where he had come from. Both dogs are at the truck, frantically trying to get in. I run to the truck, open it up, get the dogs and me in, and left as fast as I could. I made it to the North side of Minneapolis before I stopped again. One of the most terrifying 5-10 minute portions of my life.

Many among our ranks are new to firearms. Much of the posting I do is geared toward new shooters, new preppers and those new to the dynamics of these subjects which are old hat to many. This video is a very well done representation of how an AR functions. Enjoy

Civil wars are horrendous and bloody affairs. That’s why we should avoid them.  They happen when two sides cannot settle on who runs the country.  When they can’t reconcile the matter through elections, the country falls apart.  When one side does not accept the election results, we have a countdown to a civil war.

This is a dangerous time.  Americans in 1859 had no idea of the cataclysm that lay ahead for them just a few years later.
