I receive many (too many) emails from both political parties every day in this election cycle. The message is the same regardless of the party: we need your donation in order to win the election. If I send $1000 to both parties, is the net effect 0? If I send $0 to both parties, is the net effect also 0?

Where does this money go? Both parties use a portion of the money for polling which is then used to generate emails soliciting more donations. Some of the money is used to generate attack advertisements in what passes for “news” outlets. The question also to be considered is the money donated from sources outside of the election’s boundaries. The Texas knockdown between Ted and Beto will become one of the most expensive elections in history. Beto has raised $70 million in his election bid: the most raised in our nation’s history for a senate race. $52 million of O’Rourke’s funding came from ActBlue instead of constituents.

If elections are won (or lost) based on the amount of money raised, the obvious conclusion is that elections are bought instead of won on merit and/or experience. The message is usually the same: vote for me because my opponent is (fill in the blank). I believe our founders gave us a system in which the better qualified candidate would win the election. The process has degraded into one in which the voters are given a choice between the lesser of two evils who must repay their donors in order to stay in office.

So how much should I donate?

Babies Don’t Provide Anchors!

Section 1 of the 14th Amendment says, in part:

“All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside…”

One of the purposes of Section 1 was to extend citizenship to freed slaves.

This Section does not provide that illegals who invade our Country and drop a baby here are automatically the parents of a US citizen.

The key is “subject to the jurisdiction thereof”: Consider the French ambassador and his lovely young wife stationed in Washington, DC. She gives birth to a child here. Her child was born here. But is her child “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States? No! The child is subject to the same jurisdiction as his parents: France.

Consider the American Indians: Sec.1 of the 14th Amendment did NOT confer citizenship on American Indians. They were not “subject to the jurisdiction of the United States” – they were subject to the jurisdiction of their tribes.

An illegal alien who invades our Country is in the same status as the French Ambassador’s wife. The baby she drops here is “subject to the jurisdiction” of the Country she left.

So the 14th Amendment does NOT confer citizenship on babies of illegals born here – just as it does not confer citizenship on the babies of foreign diplomats stationed here.

Pursuant to Art. I, Sec. 8, clause 4, US Constitution, Congress may make laws deciding how people become naturalized citizens.

But Sec. 1 of the 14th Amendment does not confer citizenship status on babies born here of illegal aliens.

This is important.

Trump Plans To End Birthright Citizenship For Children Of Illegal Immigrants

In a report based on an interview with Axios set to air on its new show, “Axios on HBO,” the organization’s reporter said such an order would be “the most dramatic move yet” in Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration, targeting so-called “anchor babies.” It will almost certainly set off another stand-off with the courts, as Trump’s authority to impose such a change via executive order is up for debate.

Trump said in an interview that he has run the idea of ending birthright citizenship by his counsel and plans to proceed with the highly controversial move, which certainly will face legal challenges.

Our Revolution

The 2008 financial crisis sparked an incipient revolution. Previously, Americans dissatisfied with their Progressive rulers had imagined that voting for Republicans might counter them. But then, as three-fourths of Americans opposed bailing out big banks with nearly a trillion dollars, the Republican and Democratic presidential candidates joined; most Republican legislators joined all Democrats; The Wall Street Journal joined The New York Times, and National Review joined The Nation; in telling Americans that doing this was essential, and that their disapproval counted for nothing. And then, just as high-handedly, all these bipartisan rulers dropped that bailout scheme, and adopted another—just as unaccountably. They showed “government by the people, for the people” to be a fable.

The ruling class’s “resistance” to the 2016 election’s outcome was the second turn. Its vehemence, unanimity, coordination, endurance,and non-consideration of fallback options—the rapidity with which our revolution’s logic has unfolded—have surprised and dismayed even those of us who realized that America had abandoned its republican past.

Normalcy Bias and the Fourth Turning

There is an article on Zerohedge discussing the Fourth Turning which places America in the same 80-100 year cycle, or what is called a “saecula”  as it was during the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, the Great Depression and World War II. This is something I had been thinking about for some time, not the saecula, I’m not that smart.

I was thinking about how we are in a time that seems natural. Okay, getting here required a lot of manipulation over generations of the average working folks first indoctrinated into the concept of communism through labor unions. Labor unions are about the only functional thing a communist can produce and its success is often used to transition the working person into the communist ideology, i.e., the collectivist urge, but it never acknowledges the ultimately corrosive nature of the relationship between employer and employee. Eventually, the rising costs of avoiding strikes prices the goods beyond the point where the employee can afford to purchase it, except out of loyalty and all consumers do not share that loyalty, so they find cheaper alternatives, killing the host.

While the adults were being indoctrinated into the collectivist fold as a means to better their lives, the children were indoctrinated into the concept of the “goodness” of the state, because they were being taught in state-run schools by teachers who benefited from the collectivist notion of labor unions. The media swung hard left to back up and substantiate this indoctrination.

Gab Booted By Hosting Company After Synagogue Shooting

Following the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting, social media network Gab was given notice by its hosting provider, Joyent, that they have until Monday to move the website elsewhere before they would disable it.

In a Sunday tweet, Gab said: “@joyent, Gab’s new hosting provider, has just pulled our hosting service. They have given us until 9am on Monday to find a solution. Gab will likely be down for weeks because of this. Working on solutions.”

Mexico offers caravan migrants benefits to stay; thousands refuse

Several thousand Central American migrants turned down a Mexican offer of benefits if they applied for refugee status and stayed in the country’s two southernmost states, vowing to set out before dawn Saturday to continue their long trek toward the U.S. border.

Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto announced what he called the “You are at home” plan, offering shelter, medical attention, schooling and jobs to Central Americans in Chiapas and Oaxaca states if they applied, calling it a first step toward permanent refugee status. Authorities said more than 1,700 had already applied for refugee status.

But after one of the caravan’s longest days of walking and hanging from passing trucks, the bulk of the migrants were boisterous Friday evening in their refusal to accept anything less than safe passage to the U.S. border.
