All Hell Breaks Loose In (Shithole) Haiti As Violent Mobs Try To Murder Trapped American Tourists

https://twitter.com/afrokinn/status/1015640018403123201/photo/1

The US embassy in the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince warned American tourists to “shelter in place” as violent demonstrations erupted across the island over a fuel price hike.

An estimated 120 Americans are believed to be staying at a Port-au-Prince hotel targeted by protesters, who attempted to bypass security and set the building ablaze. Youth groups and missionaries from an array of U.S churches are also stranded in the Caribbean nation, unable to make it safely to the airport for departure. –Fox News

Tricoteuse of the New catholic Red Guard: @MichaelSWinters (aka Madame Defarge)

Over at the National Schismatic Reporter, usual suspect Michael Sean Winters has let the cover slip from the cauda.

Here is a bit of thinking which fully justifies a new nickname as a member of the New catholic Red Guards.  Remember who they were?  The Red Guards?   After Mao sparked the youth in the Cultural Revolution, they rampaged through the byways, targeting political enemies for public humiliation and execution.

Or maybe a better image is the Terror of the French Revolution.

Some of you young’uns might not know who the Tricoteues were.

As the French Revolution descended into the Reign of Terror, the women of the streets and markets who had been active were sidelined from politics.   In sullen protest, they parked themselves near the guillotine and did their knitting.  Thus, Tricoteuses … knitter women.   In literature, you might remember the ghastly figure of Madame Defarge in Charles Dickens’ A Tale Of Two Cities.

In his melt-down about recent Supreme Court decisions, MSW concluded:

I had been prepared for the Janus decision to go the way it did. I was, therefore, surprised by how angry I got when the decision was released and how my anger did not dissipate. I left my computer to go work in the garden, something that almost always restores equanimity, but not this time. The Supreme Court had a chance to defend the decency of the nation and it failed to do so.

Normally, when I get into a debate with a conservative friend and we are at an impasse, with no hope for resolution, I try to ease the tension with levity, and say, “Well, when the revolution comes, I will put in a good word for you and your family.” To my friends in the Republican political and legal establishment who have not stood up to Trump: When the revolution comes, you are on your own, and I will be clamoring not for mercy but for a seat next to the guillotine, where I can do my knitting.

In a more jocular mood, I prefer the less horrifying image of MSW as the Wile E. Coyote of the catholic web.

Now he is Madame Defarge, Tricoteuse of the catholic Left.   He has risen from his fainting couch and moved to the guillotine with his needles.

His is a particularly venomous mind but this vision of the future is what the Left really wants.

I was sent this message from Hermit Sister.

Meantime on your latest NCRenegade post, I noticed the post from the National Catholic Reporter. That paper is very liberal and does not represent faithful Catholics. In fact, if we refer to that paper we do so with a small ‘c’ for catholic. My favorite Catholic priest blogger, Fr. Z, had a post on that very same article which you might find of interest regarding another point of view. In particular many of the comments… the comment by ‘Semper Gumby’ got a Gold Star from Fr. Z, who by the way also has a great sense of humor. Fr. Z refers to that paper as both the National Schismatic Reporter and the ‘Fishwrap’ with an image he created.

A grim Fourth of July arrives in the Age of Trump

This Fourth of July, however, the picture is far less sanguine. The Republicans passed a tax reform law that was light on the reform and heavy on the lower rates for rich people. They also included in other legislation the abolition of the individual mandate, a key part of the Affordable Care Act. Congressional Republicans have been willing to abuse their oversight role to frustrate the Mueller probe, their questioning of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein demonstrating a fondness for conspiracy theories that would do Oliver Stone proud.

I hope that Catholics would reflect on how the above viewpoint reflects upon them. I wonder why the author thinks the Communists will win the civil war? He would be wise to remember this: you don’t bring words to a gunfight.

Fourth night of anarchy in French city: Rioting spreads to more suburbs

During the night between Friday to Saturday, 7 cars were set ablaze in the suburbs of Orvault, Rezé, Breil and Bellevue. Police forces were also targeted as rioters threw Molotov Cocktails at them in the Breil and Bellevue areas.

An apartment building was also set on fire in Breil. Images of the worsening situation were reported by French media yesterday.

The riots started after a young drug criminal was shot dead by the police. He tried to escape after being pulled over by a police patrol in the area.

The Meaning Of Good And Evil In Perilous Times

By Brandon Smith

Perhaps the most destructive idea ever planted in the minds of the general public is the notion that nothing in this world is permanent — that all things can and must be constantly changed to suit our whims. The concept of impermanence fuels what I call “blank slate propaganda.” The usefulness of the blank slate as a weapon for social control should be explained before we examine the nature of good and evil, because these days it infects everything.

The blank slate theory is designed to confuse people with self-doubt and to misrepresent the constructs of nature as constructs of society. It most effectively disrupts people’s relationship to their own moral compass by suggesting that moral compass should be completely ignored as artificial. The argument by blank slate proponents is that all boundaries are created by society instead of by inborn conscience, and that these boundaries often hold us back from achieving our goals, bettering ourselves as a species and generally getting what we want out of life.

The only people who seem to benefit from the spread of the blank slate are the people already in political and economic power. For if they can convince the masses to ignore their conscience, they can then convince us to accept almost any other conditions.

Consider This…

I have often said that voting for politicians who will fix the issues that other politicians made is insanity. Consider this: how much of Trump’s success is due to reversing political decisions, laws and regulations?

Then consider who is responsible for making America weak in the first place. Then consider why they want America weak and divided.

US Trade Deficit Plunges Most In 10 Years – Is Trump Winning?

Confirming the advance trade balance, it could be argued – by those of a particular persuasion – that Trump’s trade policies are working as the US trade deficit has collapsed to its lowest since September 2016.

The US trade balance for May printed a smaller deficit than expected at $43.1 bn (vs $43.6bn exp) and well down from the revised $46.1bn in April.

The short answer is yes. Trump is winning and when Trump wins, Americans wins. The example set by President Trump’s expertise in business will be a high bar for politicians in the future. But it will be a bar that they win have to address.

Decision Time

Folks, the people in “Fly over” country are PISSED, from the guy that guides hunters, to the mayors of towns and cities, to state senators congressmen and Governors who are voting to arrest and imprison federal law enforcement officials for enforcing federal gun laws that don’t agree with state law … The political pendulum has never, in the history of humanity, stayed on one side of a swing. The back lash from over reach has always been proportionate to how far off center it went before coming back … right now we’re staring at a whole hell of a lot of the country (about 80-90% of the land mass, as well as about 50+% of the population) that is FED UP. You really don’t want those guys to decide that the only way to fix it is to burn it down and start over…

Will History Record Illinois As A Failure Of Democracy?

Image result for illinois corruption

Illinois inherited assets most states and nations would envy. Its GDP remains larger than all but fifteen countries of the world. More importantly, it inherited constitutional self-government.

But it’s failing.

Illinois is bankrupt. The state and many of its towns and cities sink further into insolvency each day — the facts and numbers are irrefutable. Illinois government is morally bankrupt as well. Its moral insolvency is less quantifiable but no less apparent. Graft, both legal and illegal, is exposed incessantly, usually to no end. Scandal fatigue overtook the state long ago. Numbed voters left politicians free to do little good and plenty wrong. Not a single major reform, fiscal or otherwise, is currently under serious consideration in Illinois.

How can a democracy have done this to itself?

The reasons are myriad. Many are debatable. Some are particular to Illinois. Most of the 20,000 articles we’ve linked to or written on this site are about those reasons.

Which brings me back to my old adage: nothing good ever comes out of Illinois: Abraham Lincoln, the corruption that caused the passage of the 17th Amendment bastardizing the US Senate, Al Capone, Gov. Rod Blagojevich and Obamanation.

Exposing The ‘Boiling Frog’ Of The American Police State

For many years, I’ve forecasted that the US will evolve into a police state; that it will begin slowly; then as more and more freedoms are removed, the creation of the police state will accelerate.

We’re now seeing that acceleration, as more and more Americans are detained, questioned, and having their property confiscated than ever before.

As an example, in 2016, some 20,000 travellers in and out of the US were stopped, often at random. Typically, their baggage was searched, their documents photocopied, access codes to their electronic devices demanded and their files copied. In most cases, no explanation was given, but they were advised that if the search was refused, they would be detained indefinitely.

The following year, in 2017, the numbers of people detained rose by 50%, to 30,000.
