An interesting perspective from President Reagan. The government in Washington, D.C. has a much different perspective. I personally dislike stating my opinions; I would much rather have an intelligent debate about issues. Dictating opinions as facts is one of the major problems that we face. Anytime you read an article or listen to a speech that contains a large usage of “I”, use caution. Let me make one small “I” change in the above statement:
Government’s first duty is to protect the people, not ruin their lives.
There may be a discussion about which is worse: death or enslavement. “Give me Liberty or give me death” is a founding principle of the country. I consider life in the United States to be enslavement. You can consider this to be opinion or fact. To the government, the people are nothing more than a means to extract money to promote and project their agendas. When that money is not enough, they print more and devalue the dollar. When that was not enough, they converted health care into a health tax.
There are three classes in this country:
- The entitlement class who are paid to vote for the political elite to continue their entitlements.
- The political elite who are ruining the lives of the working class.
- The working class who are wage slaves who have no representation in the governance of the country.
This year will mark a new record high for federal tax collections. As the government bleeds the people, the government has drained the life’s blood from Lady Liberty.
What was the duty of government according to George Washington?
“A primary object should be the education of our youth in the science of government. In a republic, what species of knowledge can be equally important? And what duty more pressing than communicating it to those who are to be the future guardians of the liberties of the country?”
The only way the government could destroy Liberty was to ensure that our children were not taught how to keep a republic.
