Negative rates may not have found their way to bank deposits in most locales (yet), but that doesn’t mean the public isn’t starting to see the writing on the wall.

At first, NIRP was an anomaly. An obscure policy tool that most analysts and market watchers assumed would be implemented on a temporary basis in a kind of “let’s see if this is even possible” experiment with an idea that, from a common sense perspective, makes no sense.

But then a funny thing happened. Central banks from Denmark to Sweden to Switzerland went negative and stayed there. They even doubled down, taking rates even more negative and before you knew it, the public started to catch on.

When NIRP failed to resuscitate global growth and trade, the cash ban calls began. The thinking is simple (if crazy): if you do away with physical banknotes, the effective lower bound is thereby eliminated. You can make rates as negative as you like because the public has no recourse as people aren’t able to push back by eschewing their bank accounts the mattress.

If that seems far-fetched, consider that the ECB is seriously considering pulling the €500 euro note and the calls are growing louder for the Fed to drop the $100 bill. Of course officials are pitching the big bill bans as an attempt to fight crime – because only a criminal would pay with a $100. But the underlying push is for a cashless society wherein monetary authorities can effectively force citizens to spend and thereby boost the economy by simply making interest rates deeply negative.

Now that the cash ban calls have gotten sufficiently loud to be heard by the generally clueless masses and now that the likes of Jose Canseco are shouting about negative rates, savers are beginning to pull their money out of the banks.

What happens to banks that have no money to lend? And when the banks fail, the current law in this country is that your deposits are forfeited unless any money is left over after their debts are paid. Of course there is always your FDIC insurance that can be paid back by printing more fiat currency. All of this is the very reason why the Federal Reserve banking system was initially passed.

Saudi Arabia already has nukes, Iran probably does, and the Russians are one of the two great nuclear powers on the entire planet.  So if Saudi Arabia, Turkey and their Sunni allies do decide to conduct a full-blown ground invasion of Syria, could someone ultimately decide to use nuclear weapons when their backs get pushed up against a wall?  As you read this article, there are thousands of military vehicles and hundreds of thousands of troops massed along the southern border of Turkey and the northern border of Saudi Arabia.  If the command is given and those forces start streaming toward Damascus, it is inevitable that the Syrians, the Iranians, Hezbollah and the Russians would fight back.  It would literally be the start of World War 3, and the Saudis and the Turks are trying very hard to convince the United States to be involved.  But the truth is that we don’t want any part of this conflict, because it could very easily become the very first nuclear war in the history of the Middle East.

Perhaps you didn’t know that the Saudis already have nukes.  Of course the official position is that they don’t, but it is a fact that they were the ones that funded the development of Pakistan’s nuclear program.  It is an open secret that the Saudis have the bomb, but nobody is really supposed to talk about it.

That is why it was so alarming what Saudi political analyst Dahham Al-‘Anzi told RT just recently…

Earlier this week a Saudi political analyst told RT’s Arab networkthe kingdom has a nuclear weapon.

Dahham Al-‘Anzi made the claim while saying Saudi Arabia is engaged in an effort to “minimize the Iranian threat in the Levant and Syria.”

Although Saudi Arabia has officially denied it has a nuclear weapons program and has publicly stated it opposes nuclear weapons in the Middle East, it has funded a military nuclear program and received scientific assistance from the United States and Pakistan.

Isn’t it amazing to see history repeat itself? The reasons people are voting for Trump are simple: they understand that the political elite are not representing the people, Trump is telling them what they want to hear and they are not applying the lessons that history has taught them. There is no one running for pResident who will be able to save this country’s economy or rebuild our national security.

As the Republican field narrows, the outcries against Trump will lead the “R” republicans to support Rubio. As we have seen since Reagan, the Republican Party picks the nominee. For those republicans who still want to believe, I hope that they realize the mistakes of McCain and Romney.

As an aside, instead of asking who will be able to beat Hillary Clinton, ask yourself why she is not in jail. And if you are a person of faith, ask yourself why you are supporting an evil government.

Children were told to write to their parents explaining why they had converted to Islam as part of a bizarre homework assignment.

Year 8 Pupils at Les Beaucamp High School in Guernsey were asked to explain to their parents “how becoming a pupil has changed your life [and] how much you love your family and hope they can accept your choice”.

Teacher Amber Stables told pupils: “Focus: How would it make you feel having to tell your parents this? How would/could they react?”

Grant County’s sheriff is under state investigation after complaints about his conduct during the standoff at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.

There were apparently concerns Sheriff Glenn Palmer might have been passing information to the occupiers during the standoff.

He was apparently kept out of the loop about plans for the traffic stop that led to the arrest of Ammon Bundy and several others, and the shooting death of LaVoy Finicum.

Now Palmer is facing more than half a dozen complaints – some from law enforcement agencies – about his actions during the standoff.

Palmer is outspoken about gun rights and is sympathetic to anti-government protesters. The sheriff’s office even posted a video clip featuring Palmer on its website.

“People are tired of the oppression from their government,” he says in the video. “And at some point it’s got to stop or we’re gonna have problems.”

Presidential contender Donald Trump is now the latest Republican presidential candidate to receive negative publicity from The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR).

CAIR has been declared a terrorist organization in the United Arab Emirates and was named by federal prosecutors as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation’s Hamas-funding operation.

Nihad Awad, CAIR’s executive-director (and a supporter of the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas), said Trump is pushing “inflammatory rhetoric” after the GOP candidate told a story during a rally about Muslims being executed with bullets “dipped in pig’s blood.”

Trump reportedly told a story at a rally in South Carolina on Friday about General John Pershing’s operations during the Philippine-American War.

Trump said:

He took 50 bullets and he dipped them in pig’s blood, and he had his men load his rifles and he lined up the 50 people, and they shot 49 of those people. And the 50th person, he said, “You go back to your people and you tell them what happened.” And for 25 years there wasn’t a problem.

Throughout history, governments have staged attacks on their own people in order to place the blame on their enemies.  These kinds of attacks are known as “false flags”, and they are often used to justify military action.  As I will explain below, it appears that we may have just seen a “false flag” attack in Turkey.  The Turks needed justification for bombarding the Kurds in northern Syria, and right on cue there was a “terror attack” in Ankara.  During the weeks to come, will we see more “false flag” attacks that will be used to justify a full-blown ground invasion of Syria?

If you are not familiar with this concept, the following is how Wikipedia defines a “false flag”…

The contemporary term false flag describes covert operations that are designed to deceive in such a way that the operations appear as though they are being carried out by entities, groups, or nations other than those who actually planned and executed them.

The bomb attacks that killed 28 people in Ankara last week may have been an example of just such an attack.  It is entirely possible that the PKK or the Syrian Kurds could have been responsible for the bombing.  However, to me it seems at least as likely that the Turkish government set up this attack in order to blame the Kurds.

Turkey had already been mercilessly shelling the Kurds in northern Syria anyway, and after the bombing in Ankara there is now a lot more support inside Turkey for further military action against the Kurds.  The following comes from Reuters…

Israel and the United States kicked off their biennial ballistic missile defense exercise — Juniper Cobra — on Sunday, the Israeli army announced.

In addition to preparing the two militaries for the threat of a missile attack, the exercise is designed to teach the armies to collaborate more effectively, the IDF said in a statement.

Over “1,700 U.S. Service members, civilians and contractors” will take part in the multi-day drill, the eighth such exercise since the Juniper Cobra program began in 2001.

Radioactive material that went missing in Iraq has been found dumped near a petrol station in the southern town of Zubair, officials said on Sunday, ending speculation it could be acquired by Islamic State and used as a weapon.

The officials told Reuters the material, stored in a protective case the size of a laptop computer, was undamaged and there were no concerns about radiation.

Reuters reported last week that Iraq had been searching for the material since it was stolen in November from a storage facility belonging to U.S. oilfield services company Weatherford near the southern city of Basra.

It was not immediately clear how the device, owned by Swiss inspections group SGS, ended up in Zubair, around 15 km (9 miles) southwest of Basra.

“A passer-by found the radioactive device dumped in Zubair and immediately informed security forces which went with a special radiation prevention team and retrieved the device,” the chief of the security panel within Basra provincial council, Jabbar al-Saidi, told Reuters.
