“Natural marriage between one (1) man and one (1) woman as recognized by the people of Tennessee remains the law in Tennessee, regardless of any court decision to the contrary.”

So reads a bill introduced by Tennessee lawmakers Rep. Mark Pody and  Sen. Mae Beavers. The measure states that any court decision purporting to redefine marriage to include a union between two men or two women is “unauthoritative, void, and of no effect.”

Resistance isn’t necessarily futile. Christians and other marriage-protection proponents should continue to push back on this issue, even if the resistance is only symbolic.

The Tennessean reported that voters in the state “overwhelmingly” passed a constitutional amendment in 2006 that affirmed marriage as the union between one man and one woman. As was the case in other states, the court struck down the will of the people and expanded the meaning of a God-ordained institution at the behest of the homosexual lobby.

I am mourning for America, because she is dying.  I am mourning for a nation that once knew such greatness but that has now fallen to depths that were once unimaginable.  I am mourning for the death and destruction that are coming, and I am mourning for a future that our children and our grandchildren will never get to see.  I am mourning for a nation that has refused to listen to the warnings and that now stands on the precipice of judgment.  I am mourning for games that will never be played, for books that will never be finished, for family vacations that will never get to happen and for memories that will never be made.  I am mourning for the economic depression that is coming, for the horror and suffering that friends and family will endure, and for the coming death of the country where I drew my first breath.

To many, these words will seem “over the top” and overly dramatic.  After all, despite the thousands of problems facing this nation, things still seem very “normal” at this moment.  Well, if you don’t “get” what I am saying right now, just bookmark this page and come back to it later.  Eventually it will make sense to you.

Last week, I was invited to be a guest on a major television show that is beamed into the homes of millions of people in the United States and Canada.  If you get a chance to view the shows that are being aired this week, you will notice that I wore all black.

You cannot miss the obvious accumulation of threats to America that have not only gone unnoticed by our champions in the government, but have been championed in order to comply with political correctness run amok.

In order to not offend, our leaders have allowed every sort of immigrant to enter and take up residence in the United States and while it is easy (too easy really) for people to call bigotry against those who only choose to have some method of discerning who should and who should not enter this country with the idea of citizenship, there are limits to throwing the gates open to anyone who would vote Democrat.

In the U.S. Constitution it states emphatically in Section 8 Clause 4: To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization…”

Nothing the president of the US has been proposing either through illegal immigration or through accepting refugees from Syria is tolerated in the Constitution. Nothing is more simple than there should be “an uniform Rule of Naturalization.” This means that a rule for one is a rule for all. I know for a fact that there are hundreds, if not thousands of applicants from Europe who seek admission and an opportunity to become a citizen of the United States who are waiting for paperwork to be processed while the Administration encourages and makes deals to have other immigrants, from other nations, find access to the United States and to become citizens without the cumbersome process of the typical paperwork. To provide an expedited path to citizenship for anyone violates this clear pronouncement from the founders and for good reason. There needs to be time to evaluate the competency of the individual to be a citizen of the United States. Syrian jihadists would not normally qualify.

Guys, lots of questions coming in regarding HF vs. UHF/VHF radios and antennas. Let’s flog that deceased equine a little longer; If you get your Amateur license at the Technician level, you won’t have to ask these questions any longer.

VHF/UHF radios work on the frequency bands that inherently use short/very short antennas, plus, they are usually very small, light weight, easy to operate, and run off of batteries. What’s not to like! I think this is why most folks initially purchase these radios as inter-squad level comms.

And while they do have those advantages, one of their major disadvantages is that they usually only work when they are in unobstructed view (line-of-sight) of one another. Put most any obstruction between the two (an area known as the First Fresnel Zone) and you have no or very poor comms. The obstruction could be just about anything; a hill/mountain, forest, large buildings, moving vehicles, or any combination of these things. In addition, factors such as power output and receiver sensitivity are also in play.

So, how do we get around (or over) those obstructions?

* Before anything else, I need to clarify my meaning: There are “activists” whom I respect and support. (Ernie and Donna Hancock leap to mind, as do several Bitcoin “activists.”) I divide these people from the activism of my title, because these people act, encourage, and teach directly, not through third parties.

This distinction will become clear to you as we proceed.

The Distinction: What Happened to the Cool Kids

Once upon a time, there were courageous computer types who defied mighty Western governments and worked around them to deliver usable cryptography to the world. It took skill, it took intelligence, and most of all, it took courage. But these people took the risks and did it, and I think they deserve credit for it.

Sadly, however, more than a few of those people descended from the ranks of the righteously disobedient to the level of mere activists. They spend their efforts these days encouraging legislation, engaging in dialog, and promoting causes.

In other words, they went from doing things themselves to begging overlords to do them. Consider the two models:

1. The first model required skill, intelligence, and courage. It required people to act against the will of the dominator.
2. The new model makes activists advisors to the dominator. In their imaginations, they are so smart that they can trick the dominator into doing “the right thing.”

Please note that model #1 removes power from the overlord and transfers it to individuals.

Then please note that model #2 enhances the power of the overlord. It is only the overlord who is held as a proper actor.

Sadly, model #2 has become the primary model of activism in the Western world, and this is the model that I oppose.

President Obama and Pope Francis on Wednesday morning spoke in unison on the need to confront climate change and save the planet, with both men saying humanity has a moral obligation to act now and not saddle future generations with a growing problem.

With thousands gathered on the south lawn of the White House, Mr. Obama welcomed the pope to the U.S. In brief remarks, the president praised the pontiff’s call to action on climate change.

“Holy Father, you remind us that we have a sacred obligation to protect our planet — God’s magnificent gift to us. We support your call to all world leaders to support the communities most vulnerable to a changing climate and to come together to preserve our precious world for future generations,” Mr. Obama said.

The best position for a tyrant or tyrants to be in, at least while consolidating power, is tyranny by proxy. That is to say, the most dangerous tyrants are those the people do not recognize: the tyrants who hide behind scarecrows and puppets and faceless organizations. The worst position for the common citizen to be in is a false sense of security and understanding, operating on the assumption that tyrants do not exist or that potential tyrants are really just greedy fools acting independently from one another.

Sadly, there are a great many people today who hold naïve notions that our sociopolitical dynamic is driven by random chaos, greed and fear. I’m sorry to say that this is simply not so, and anyone who believes such nonsense is doomed to be victimized by the tides of history over and over again.

There is nothing random or coincidental about our political systems or economic structures. There are no isolated tyrants and high-level criminals functioning solely on greed and ignorance. And while there is certainly chaos, this chaos is invariably engineered, not accidental. These crisis events are created by people who often refer to themselves as “globalists” or “internationalists,” and their goals are rather obvious and sometimes openly admitted: at the top of their list is the complete centralization of government and economic power that is then ACCEPTED by the people as preferable. They hope to attain this goal primarily through the exploitation of puppet politicians around the world as well as the use of pervasive banking institutions as weapons of mass fiscal destruction.

Their strategic history is awash in wars and financial disasters, and not because they are incompetent. They are evil, not stupid.

Yesterday, Democrats defeated a Republican bill which would have made the most horrorific late term abortions illegal. And by “late term,” we’re largely referring to infants who could possiblysurvive outside the womb with proper medical care (22 weeks being the age cited by the NY Times referring to a new New England Journal of Medicine study).

Unlike the Cowardly Lion getting a haircut in Oz, a late term abortion is no simple “snip, snip here, snip, snip there” operation. Rather, it involves taking an infant and giving it the full ISIS treatment – ripping off arms and legs, slicing spinal cords, and decapitation. And in partial birth abortion, the child has largely already been delivered before the slaughtering begins.

Do Democrats believe there is any limit on when abortions should be allowed? Hillary Clinton says no, and Barack Obama is already on record as supporting post-natal abortion for babies who are born alive (repeatedly voting against the Illinois “Born-Alive Infants Protection Act.”)
