The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has now spent over $3.5 million to determine why the majority of lesbians are obese.

The project, now entering its fifth year, received another grant worth $658,485 this summer. The total funding for the research is now $3,531,925. Funding has more than doubled since the study was first revealed in 2013.

Since, the study that is examining why three-quarters of lesbians are obese, but gay men are not, has survived sequester cuts, and continues to produce results such as the discovery that gay men have a “greater desire for toned muscles” than straight men.

Another scientific paper associated with the research concluded that lesbians have lower “athletic-self esteem” that may lead to higher rates of obesity.

Found on The Art of Not Being Governed: A Biblical Case for Anarchy

The purpose of this write-up is to persuade individuals who believe in the Christian god to reconsider the belief in “government authority” and to highlight the violence and wickedness inherent in that belief which is manifest in the State.

When I was in the Schoolhouse, we trained against a Soviet-style adversary.  This was post-9/11 and Army doctrine was still preparing analysts for intelligence support to conventional force-on-force warfare: tanks, armored vehicles, mechanized infantry and self-propelled artillery.  One of the crowning achievements of earning our MOS was being able to analyze the physical terrain and brief the commander on the most likely disposition of enemy forces, to include the unit size and type, command posts, and specific equipment.  We studied the enemy doctrine, figured out what the enemy commanders liked to do (or had previously done) on the battlefield, and used that as a guideline to predict how enemy forces were arrayed.  Then we could task Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) assets to confirm the location of the enemy forces and then have them destroyed.  (The Army, as they say, is always preparing to fight the last war.)

Somewhere around seven months after graduation, I was on my first deployment in a country where there were virtually zero conventional force-on-force engagements, except at the very basic levels of fire and maneuver against groups of insurgents.  There were no T-72s or BMP-3s to find; rather, insurgents in plain clothing who blended into the populace.  Finding civilian-soldiers on the battlefield is a far cry from how we’d been trained.  And then there was the civilian populace and their tribes and ethnicities and religious sects that also required our attention; a task for which many of us were wholly unprepared.  I didn’t even know what a sub-tribe was before my first deployment, now I can recall many of them from memory.

A large part of my job now is teaching Patriots and Preppers how to conduct intelligence in their own areas of operation (AO), i.e, their communities.  They don’t have to worry about conventional force-on-force warfare and memorizing the appearance and nomenclature of military equipment ad nauseum.  Instead, what students must do is become experts on their own communities, and that’s a much easier task than anything else that could be asked of them.  Simply understand how your community works and how it will react to and be affected by any number of SHTF events.

Only a fool would fail to recognize that there is no political solution to the problems that the government has created. Tyranny may come slowly but so does its recognition by the people. And then the consequences are exactly what we see today in the country. There only is one solution when fighting evil.

The Oklahoma Supreme Court, in a 7-2 decision, has ordered a monument of the Ten Commandments removed from the Capitol.

Calling the Commandments “religious in nature and an integral part of the Jewish and Christian faiths,” the court said the monument must go.

Gov. Mary Fallin has refused. And Oklahoma lawmakers instead have filed legislation to let voters cut out of their constitution the specific article the justices invoked. Some legislators want the justices impeached.

Fallin’s action seems a harbinger of what is to come in America — an era of civil disobedience like the 1960s, where court orders are defied and laws ignored in the name of conscience and a higher law.

Only this time, the rebellion is likely to arise from the right.

And for those who, when young, rejected the views, values and laws of Eisenhower’s America, what makes them think that dissenting Americans in this post-Christian and anti-Christian era will accept their laws, beliefs, values?

Late Tuesday, the Memphis, Tennessee, City Council voted unanimously to dig up the remains of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest and his wife, Talking Points Memo reported Wednesday. The council also voted to remove a statue placed in Forrest’s honor. The move came after Mayor A.C. Wharton called for the bodies to be dug up and relocated.

Tuesday’s vote is not the end of the story, however. According to WREG, the Chancery Court would also have to approve the removal of the remains and Forrest’s family would also be involved in the decision.

Forrest and his wife are currently buried beneath a statute honoring the general in a park which had been named after him until two years ago. The park is now known as Memphis’ Health Sciences Park.

Officials with Elmwood Cemetery — the location of Forrest’s original resting place — said they would be willing to help move the remains but said they did not want to become the new home of the statue. It is not known where the statue would go if the Tennessee Historic Commission approves its removal. The commission is not set to meet before October.

“It is no longer politically correct to glorify someone who was a slave trader, someone who was a racist, on public property,” said City Council member Myron Lowery. WREG said Lowery spearheaded the effort to remove Forrest, his wife and the statue. The move to relocate Forrest is part of what many now see as a Stalinist effort to purge U.S. history after the tragic shooting in a Charleston, South Carolina church that left nine dead.

The Eritrean Cultural & Civic Centre in Washington, DC is housed in a modest building near the city’s convention centre. Despite its name, it is less of a centre and more of a bar and restaurant where Eritrean cab-drivers, students and pensioners chat politics and chow down on lamb stews served on spongy “injera” bread. On its notice board are adverts from a shipping company, an immigration lawyer and a taxi firm seeking drivers. Eritrean flags hang from the ceiling and the walls are lined with trinkets from the country.

With roughly 170,000 African residents, Washington and its surrounding suburbs have, proportionately, the largest African-born population of any large city in America. Their numbers are still small: even in Washington, Africans make up just 14% of all immigrants, and 3% of the total population. But they are among the fastest growing. Between 2000 and 2013—the latest available figures—the number of people from sub-Saharan Africa in the United States more than doubled, from 690,000 to 1.5m. Since 1980 it has increased more than tenfold. Their experience reveals the successes of America’s unusual legal-immigration policies. Over time, their growing numbers may help to change what it means to be “African-American”.

The free migration of Africans (as opposed to the slave trade) has existed since the 19th century, when New England whaling ships picked up crew members from the Cape Verde islands. Even today, Cape Verdeans are among the most common African migrants in Boston and Providence. Since the 1980s, however, plenty more have joined. In Washington, DC, Ethiopians and Eritreans are the most numerous. In New York, Egyptians and Ghanaians are. Around Houston there are plenty of Nigerians. In Minneapolis there is a substantial Somali community.
