Top Dem Super PAC Gets Big Boost from Soros, Spielberg, Democracy Alliance

Harry Reid / AP

The Democratic Party’s top super PAC disclosed more than $9.2 million in September contributions on Monday, listing a who’s who of wealthy liberal donors, many associated with the secretive Democracy Alliance donor network.

New York City businessman Ian Cumming—who “was awarded the largest bonus for any CEO of a publicly traded company in New York” in 2012, according to Crain’s—and a company called HFNWA LLC donated $1 million each.

It is not entirely clear what that company does, but it appears to be affiliated with Franklin Haney, a Democratic mega-donor who was accused of campaign finance violations in the 1990s.

DreamWorks CEO and 3D advocate Jeffrey Katzenberg and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull director Steven Spielberg each gave $250,000 to the Super PAC last month.

Big-name Democratic donors also chipped in: billionaire financier George Soros and real estate mogul Herb Sandler, who pioneered an investment model dubbed the “the Typhoid Mary of the mortgage industry,” gave $500,000 each.

19 Very Surprising Facts About The Messed Up State Of The U.S. Economy

19 - Public Domain

Barack Obama and the Federal Reserve are lying to you.  The “economic recovery” that we all keep hearing about is mostly just a mirage.  The percentage of Americans that are employed has barely budged since the depths of the last recession, the labor force participation rate is at a 36 year low, the overall rate of homeownership is the lowest that it has been in nearly 20 years and approximately 49 percent of all Americans are financially dependent on the government at this point.  In a recent article, I shared 12 charts that clearly demonstrate the permanent damage that has been done to our economy over the last decade.  The response to that article was very strong.  Many people were quite upset to learn that they were not being told the truth by our politicians and by the mainstream media.  Sadly, the vast majority of Americans still have absolutely no idea what is being done to our economy.  For those out there that still believe that we are doing “just fine”, here are 19 more facts about the messed up state of the U.S. economy…

#1 After accounting for inflation, median household income in the United States is 8 percent lower than it was when the last recession started in 2007.

#2 The number of part-time workers in America has increased by 54 percent since the last recession began in December 2007.  Meanwhile, the number of full-time jobs has dropped by more than a million over that same time period.

#3 More than 7 million Americans that are currently working part-time jobs would actually like to have full-time jobs.

#4 The jobs gained during this “recovery” pay an average of 23 percent less than the jobs that were lost during the last recession.

#5 The number of unemployed workers that have completely given up looking for work is twice as high now as it was when the last recession began in December 2007.

Nigeria declared Ebola-free, holds lessons for others

Nigeria was declared free of the deadly Ebola virus on Monday after a determined doctor and thousands of officials and volunteers helped end an outbreak still ravaging other parts of West Africa and threatening the United States and Spain.

Caught unawares when a diplomat arrived with the disease from Liberia, authorities were alerted by Doctor Ameyo Adadevoh, who kept him in her hospital despite protests from him and his government, and later herself died from the disease.

They then set about trying to contain it in an overcrowded city of 21 million where it could easily have turned a doomsday scenario if about 300 people who had been in direct or indirect contact with him not been traced and isolated.

Tillis-Hagan showdown could be nation’s most expensive Senate race ever

Tillis hagan cp

From the Koch brothers and Art Pope to George Soros and Michael Bloomberg, wealthy donors are making North Carolina’s U.S. Senate race one of America’s first $100 million contests.

Outside groups continue to flood the state with ads and accusations, forcing Democratic U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan and Republican Thom Tillis to keep scrambling for dollars in the campaign’s final two weeks.

Money spent or committed in the race is poised to top $103 million, according to public records and interviews with donors. Three-quarters of it comes from party and interest groups. More than $22 million is “dark money” from groups that don’t disclose their donors.

“It’s a stunning number, and it tells you two things,” says Larry Sabato, a University of Virginia political scientist. “That campaign finance is completely out of anybody’s control and North Carolina is a premier swing state.”

The flood of money paid for nearly 80,000 TV ads through Oct. 13, according to a Center for Public Integrity analysis of CMAG/Kantar Media tracking data. At one point this month, that translated to three Senate ads every five minutes.

Thomas Eric Duncan’s fiancee set to complete Ebola quarantine on Monday

For nearly 20 days, Louise Troh has had to endure tremendous fear, grief and isolation.

When told of the death of her fiancee, Thomas Eric Duncan — the first person diagnosed with Ebola in the United States — she fell to the ground.

The man giving her the news couldn’t even console her with a hug.

But day 21 is Monday: The day the quarantine period is expected to come to an end for Troh, her son and two nephews. If the four do not develop symptoms by Monday, they will have managed to not contract Ebola despite being in close proximity to Duncan.

Medical Martial Law Has Begun

1obama-and-the-consitution

A soft form of medial martial law has begun in this country. The administration is aligning its forces, revocation of due process and civil liberties is strongly being hinted at and we will not have to wait much longer for nature to take its course.

President Obama refuses to close the borders to possible bioterrorism involving Ebola and possible terrorists crossing our southern border. Obama also refuses to close American airports to travelers from West Africa, despite the fact that over 30 nations have done exactly that. However, with regard to a newly announced Obama policy, the President certainly has no problem swat-teaming American citizens suspected of having the deadly virus.

According to the Associated Press, President Obama has announced that the CDC will respond in a “much more aggressive way” to cases of Ebola in the United States.  The President has ordered the CDC to institute “rapid response teams”.  When we combine this directive with what we are seeing in HHS and DHS documents regarding “isolation” camps, it is very difficult to not conclude that Americans suspected of Ebola and those with exposure to Ebola are soon going to swat-teamed by the CDC. More confirmation on this development comes from CNN as they are reporting that the U.S. military is forming a 30-person “quick strike team” equipped to provide direct treatment to Ebola patients inside the United States, a Defense Department official told CNN on Sunday. Has anyone considered the fact that America might not need a 30 “brown shirted” set of  response teams, if the President had closed the airports to West African travelers.

Ron Klain as Ebola czar — Right person for the right job at the right time

by Lanny Davis

So does anyone doubt that if President Obama had appointed a medical expert to become the Ebola "czar" to manage the Ebola virus crisis, many Republicans would have criticized him for not appointing someone with experience in crisis management, media and political communications? Or if the president had appointed someone with those media/political skills, they would have criticized him for not appointing a medical expert?

Get the drift?

With a looming pandemic, the pResident is looking for politically expedient solutions instead of initiating measures to safeguard the people. Are you keeping track of people's actions in our highest offices for future trials?

Actionable?

No Sh••t.

Although this is just a cartoon, I want to point out two things:

1. This can be construed to be a threat on the pResident.

2. This will be the sentiment of many people if they lose a loved one to Ebola.

Obama makes rare campaign trail appearance, some leave early

President Barack Obama made a rare appearance on the campaign trail on Sunday with a rally to support the Democratic candidate for governor in Maryland, though the event was marred somewhat by early departures of crowd members and a yelling heckler.

With approval levels hovering around record lows, Obama has spent most of his campaign-related efforts this year raising money for struggling Democrats, who risk losing control of the U.S. Senate in the Nov. 4 midterm election.

So the pResident’s base is deserting him. With an ineffective Congress and a compromised Supreme Court, what is a God fearing patriot to do in these times that try men’s souls? Patience and trust in the Lord is a good strategy. As the child pResident has now been exposed on a much wider scale, I doubt we have to be patient much longer.
