Why We Plan

by Sam Culper III

This is just a quick note to remind everyone of why we plan and why we write things down.  In class and elsewhere on the net in regards to a few of my articles, I hear a lot of responses like this: Oh, I’m just going to play it by ear.  Planning takes too much time and I have to spend too much time thinking about things.  I’m a pretty intuitive person so I’m just going to go with my gut.  I can read people/make quick decisions when they count so I think I’ll be okay.

This line of thinking goes back to illusory superiority.  Humans tend to overestimate their abilities and fool themselves into thinking they are more skilled than they are.  We all know the sayings, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” and “Proper prior planning prevents poor performance,” and “Perfect practice makes perfect.”

When planning for Operations Security (OPSEC), or identifying our Early Warning Indicators, or planning for elicitation to gather intelligence information from human sources, we may need hours’ worth of planning for something that could take as little as thirty minutes or an hour.  The more complex the environment and mission, the more planning and attention to detail it requires.

Mother Facing 10 Years For Having A Licensed Gun, Where’s Chris Christie Now?

Shaneen Allen

Shaneen Allen, single mother of two, is a healthcare worker trying hard to provide for her family in Philadelphia.

She was working two jobs, often pulling late shifts and odd hours. She had been robbed twice in the past year, and a family member encouraged her to get a gun for protection. She went through a firearms training class, passed a background check, and was issued a license to carry a firearm by the Pennsylvania State Police.

About a week after acquiring a firearm, Shaneen was pulled over for a minor traffic violation. As she had been instructed in her licensing class, she immediately informed the officer that she had a license and a handgun with her.

Unfortunately for Shaneen, she was on the New Jersey side of the river at the time, and her Pennsylvania license is not recognized in New Jersey.

Shaneen spent over a month in a New Jersey county jail and is now facing up to ten years in prison, with a mandatory minimum sentence of at least three years, along with a felony conviction on her record.

America The Divided: Everyone Knows We Have Problems But There Is Very Little Agreement On Solutions

Argument - Public Domain

America is divided. On purpose. This was easy to do to a people who believe in personal Liberty. While there is little agreement on solutions, that premise itself is a problem. We need the same spirit as existed in 1775 but not in 1774. The missing piece is the concept of public virtue. With faith, all things are possible and the clarity with which to move ahead will be shown. Or in most cases, the Sacred honor necessary to restore our stolen Liberty will be rekindled.

by Michael Snyder

In fact, a newly released Rasmussen Reports national survey discovered that 67 percent of voters believe that America is even more divided now than it was four years ago.  We are angry, we are frustrated and we love to fight with one another, but none of this strife and discord is getting us anywhere.  What most Americans can agree on is that we are facing tremendous problems as a nation.  One average of recent polls found that only 26 percent of Americans believe that this country is heading in the right direction and 63.8 percent of Americans believe that this country is heading in the wrong direction.  Unfortunately, there is very little agreement on what the solutions to our problems are.  That is where the division is.  As a nation, we no longer have a shared set of values or principles that provides a foundation for our decisions.  Everyone just kind of does whatever is right in their own eyes, and the result is chaos.  At a minimum, the U.S. Constitution was supposed to bond all of us together, but it has become clear that very few of our lawless politicians have any respect for that document at this point.  And the American people must not have too much respect left for the Constitution either, because they keep sending the very same politicians back to Washington over and over again.  Unless a miracle happens, everyone is going to keep pulling in different directions, and that is going to continue ripping our country to shreds.

The issues that divide us are countless.  The following are just a few examples…

China Seals Off Yumen City After Outbreak Of Bubonic Plague

With Colorado suffering from pneumonic plague, and the dreadfully sad report of Sierra Leone’s chief Ebola doctor contracting the virus, it appears China is taking no chances. As Yahoo reportsChinese officials have blocked off parts of Yumen, a city in northwest China, preventing about 30,000 of the city’s people from leaving after one resident died from bubonic plague. About 150 people who had contact with the plague victim have been placed under quarantine but US experts are perplexed at the response, there’s something here that we don’t know, because this seems a very expansive response to just one case.”

As Yahoo reports,

A city in China has reportedly been sealed off after one resident died from bubonic plague, but this way of trying to contain the disease is puzzling to infectious disease experts, who say the response seems extreme given the information released about the case.

N.C. Woman Loses Obamacare Coverage Despite Making Full Payments

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUHmlfriBf0

Is Blue Cross targeting people at the direction of the administration in a similar manner as the IRS scandal? Blue Cross cancelled my insurance this year for non-payment. It is surprising that missing one payment would cause a cancellation of our policy after being a long term client. Especially when we never received the bill which they claimed they sent.

What was also surprising was finding out that our insurance was not reinstated because we paid the premium with a company check. Just like we have done for ten years. We had to send a personal check but still have had no notification that we have insurance. At this point, we may have to pay Obamacare tax penalties for not having insurance for six months. Even though we have paid the premiums.

There Is No Moral Obligation to Support the Government of the United States

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zg1IVjnRuXk

Do you think pResident will get this information from the news? Why is there no outcry when Obama gives $47 million to Hamas which is classified as a terrorist organization by our own state department? When the (not our) government gives aid to terrorists, there is no moral obligation for us to support it. In any manner.

Who Is More Evil?

See additional comments on Tea Party Nation.

“If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is then no recourse left but in the exertion of that original right of self-defense which is paramount to all positive forms of government, and which against the usurpations of the national rulers may be exerted ….”

Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No. 28

There is no question that our government has betrayed their constituents. The irresponsible fiscal policies, endless scandals and unConstitutional acts/executive orders have put law abiding people under the chains of tyranny. One of the major causes of this situation is the democratic process to elect our “representatives” to the Constitutional Republic. The number of people who have sold their vote (and our Liberty) for entitlements is evil. Enslaving others through redistribution for your own self-interest is evil.

But can evil be quantified in our case? Someone who has taken an oath to uphold the Constitution and then supports tyranny is also evil. The Southern border crisis manufactured by our “government” would never happen if our soldiers and law enforcement officers would uphold the Constitution. Any one who supports illegal acts by submitting to intimidation is a coward. A paycheck to support your family is no excuse to submit to tyranny. Are you really supporting your family by guaranteeing their enslavement? Does any law abiding American really not see the consequences of supporting evil?

So who is more evil: someone who passively endorses tyranny by selling their vote or someone who hides in shame and actively supports tyranny? I do not understand why our border guards do not speak up concerning the immigration camp conditions. We are no longer the America given to us by the sacrifices of our forefathers. Can anyone imagine trying to justify their actions on Judgment Day? Just doing my job was not an excuse at the Nuremberg Trials. When the administration’s blackout on the border crisis is breached, it will not be an excuse in the future.

Stop The BATFE’s ‘Multiple Gun Sales’ Reporting

Grass Roots North Carolina

You may or may not be aware that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) is attempting to extend the period of time for which extra reporting is required when a citizen purchases more than one rifle, of a certain type, within a five-day period.

The fact that this information is being collected in the first place is unacceptable, and should cease immediately.

However, contrary to what is right and reasonable, the BATFE is contemplating extending the period of time for which this extra data collection would be conducted. (Click here for more detailed information from the NRA).

This data collection is unlawful, it lacks any practical purpose, and it is an undue burden on those gun dealers tasked with collecting, tracking and filing the forms. Currently, this practice is being forced on gun dealers and gun owners in just a few states (Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas), but we all know how that goes. If this practice is not ended, and soon, it’s just a matter of time before you, right here in North Carolina and across the USA, will be officially reported to the BATFE if you ever decide to purchase more than one rifle within a five day period. The time to stop this is now!
