Border Patrol agents in Arizona were reportedly fired upon by a Mexican military helicopter that traveled across the border.

KVOA-TV reports that Mexican authorities were conducting a drug interdiction operation when the incident happened early Thursday morning on the Tohono O’odham Indian Nation. The Mexican chopper fired at the agents and then flew back into Mexico.

Art del Cueto, Border Patrol Tucson Sector union president, tells KVOA that they called and apologized for the incident.

“America Deluded Us” Slams Angry Iraq PM, Will Buy Russian Jets Instead In War Against ISIS

It was a week ago when we learned that in yet another diplomatic masterstroke, Russia’s Vladimir Putin took advantage of the vacuum in relations between the US (which now wants its heretofore puppet prime minister in Iraq removed) and the Iraqi PM (who has been increasingly vocal against US allies in the region, namely Saudi Arabia, and US demands for a coalition government) and offered his “complete support” to the Iraqi leader. Yesterday the Iraqi leader has decided to take Putin up on his offer (especially since as we reported previously the Iraqi air force is currently made up of all of two “equipped” Cessna jets) and has announced he has bought used Russian jets which he will use instead of US fighter planes in his war against ISIS.

As BBC reports, citing Maliki, “Jets from Russia and Belarus will hopefully make a key difference in the fight against ISIS in Iraq.” He expressed regrets over Iraq’s contract with the US, saying their “jets are taking too long to arrive.”

“God willing within one week this force will be effective and will destroy the terrorists’ dens,” he told BBC Arabic.

New York to bring illegal immigrants out of the shadows

The move will be a significant boost for Irish people living and working illegally in New York City who are among the estimated 50,000 undocumented living across the United States. Photograph: Getty Images

New York City is to issue identification cards to the city’s residents, including an estimated 500,000 illegal immigrants. This will enable the so-called undocumented open bank accounts, sign rental leases and cash cheques.

New York City Council will follow other major cities with large immigrant communities including Los Angeles and San Francisco and vote for an ID card system that would allow illegal migrants access basic city services.

It will be the biggest city ID card programme in the US.

As first US advisers reach Baghdad, Iranians and Saudis airlift weapons to opposing sides in Iraq

al Qaeda

When the first of the 300 military advisers US President Barack Obama promised the Iraqi government arrived in Baghdad Wednesday, June 25, Iranian and Saudi Arabian arms shipments were already in full flow to opposing sides in embattled Iraq, DEBKAfile’s military sources report.

At least two cargo planes from bases in Iran were landing daily at Baghdad’s military airport, carrying 150 tons of military equipment. More than 1,000 tons were flown in this past week alone. Tehran has replicated for the Iraqi army the routine it established for Bashar Assad’s army, furnishing its needs on a daily basis as per its commanders’ requests. Those requests come before a joint Iranian-Iraqi headquarters set up at the Iraqi high command in Baghdad for approval and the assigning of priorities for shipment.

At the same time, Saudi arms are flowing to the Iraqi Sunni tribes fighting alongside the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) against the Iraqi army and the Shiite Nouri al-Maliki’s government.

They are coming in both overland and by airlift.

White House to Congress: We Did Not See ISIL Coming

Does anyone have a warm and fuzzy feeling for our State Department or Congressional Foreign Relations/Intelligence committees? An Islamic jihad in the Middle East may be seen as a solution to radical Islam: let them kill themselves off. But a worldwide energy price spike will collapse the economies of most countries and precipitate a world war. Which was always the point.

Gazprom Ready To Drop Dollar, Settle China Contracts In Yuan Or Rubles

A little over a month ago, when Russia announced the much anticipated “Holy Grail” energy deal with China, some were disappointed that despite this symbolic agreement meant to break the petrodollar’s stranglehold on the rest of the world, neither Russia nor China announced payment terms to be in anything but dollars. In doing so they admitted that while both nations are eager to move away from a US Dollar reserve currency, neither is yet able to provide an alternative. This changed rather dramatically overnight when in a little noticed statement, Gazprom’s CFO Andrey Kruglov uttered the magic words (via Bloomberg):

  • GAZPROM READY TO SETTLE CHINA CONTRACTS IN YUAN OR RUBLES: CFO

In other words just as the US may or may not be preparing to export crude – a step which would weaken the dollar’s reserve status as traditional US oil trading partners will need to find other import customers who pay in non-USD currencies – the world’s two other superpowers are preparing to respond. And once the bilateral trade in Rubles or Renminbi is established, the rest of the energy world will piggyback.

Proof That Government Economic Numbers Are Being Highly Manipulated

Detective - Public Domain

By Michael Snyder

How in the world does the government expect us to trust the economic numbers that they give us anymore?  For a long time, many have suspected that they were being manipulated, and as you will see below we now have stone cold proof that this is indeed the case.  But first, let’s talk about the revised GDP number for the first quarter of 2014 that was just released.  Initially, they told us that the U.S. economy only shrank by 0.1 percent in Q1.  Then that was revised down to a 1.0 percent contraction, and now we are being informed that the economy actually contracted by a whopping 2.9 percent during the first quarter.  So what are we actually supposed to believe?  Sometimes I almost get the feeling that government bureaucrats are just throwing darts at a dartboard in order to get these numbers.  Of course that is not actually true, but how do we know that we can actually trust the numbers that they give to us?

Over at shadowstats.com, John Williams publishes alternative economic statistics that he believes are much more realistic than the government numbers.  According to his figures, the U.S. economy has actually been continually contracting since 2005.  That would mean that we have been in a recession for the last nine years.

Could it be possible that he is right and the bureaucrats in Washington D.C. are wrong?

Before you answer that question, read the rest of this article.

1000 vets may have died under VA watch

More than 1,000 veterans may have died during the last decade due to misconduct within the Department of Veterans, according to a new report released Tuesday by Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.).

The report linked more than 1,000 veteran deaths between 2001-2011 to the VA, noting the agency paid out $845 million in malpractice and wrongful death claims between 2003-2013. However, there are now plenty of malpractice and wrongful death law firms out there to help you, if you are a victim of this.

Coburn’s office compiled numerous news and government agency reports from the past year that show a pattern of budget mismanagement and criminal activity.

The findings reflect a “perverse culture” within the agency, Coburn said, which included bullying of whistleblowers and reluctancy to let veterans waiting for care see others doctors.

The report’s biggest claim, that more than 1,000 veterans died under the VA’s watch, is based on data obtained by the Center for Investigative Reporting published in April. The claim that the VA paid $845 million in malpractice and wrongful death cases is drawn from a November 2013 story by Cox Media Group.

We Just Don’t Get It

chess

I got an email from a reader a few days ago, asking about something we’ve all faced. Here’s a snip:

It gets a little lonely sometimes. At times I feel a little resentful, sometimes just plain angry that so few people know or care to know about economics and/or philosophy when they are so important.

I’m sympathetic, of course, having felt similarly more than once. But, as I often say, perspective is key. We’ve all complained about people who “just don’t get it,” but the real problem is that we just haven’t gotten it.

We have grossly underestimated the kind fight we’re in. We thought it was about economics and politics, but it’s much more than that. What we’re really fighting is idolatry. If that doesn’t make sense to you initially, I can’t blame you, but allow me to explain.

All Idolatry Shares a Single Root

We’ve all heard slogans like this one:

Why shouldn’t we take money from a billionaire who doesn’t need it, to feed a starving child?

One Party to Rule Them All

truth
The above political ad supporting the Cochran campaign proves that there is one party in Washington, D.C. And this party remains in power by exploiting African Americans and people who are willing to sell our Liberty for their own self-interests.

Anyone who feels that there is a political solution to our nation’s downfall (economic and moral) is not facing reality.

Got Faith?

NC lawmaker: Pedophilia is like homosexuality

Rep. Paul "Skip" Stam (R-Wake County)

As North Carolina lawmakers debated a proposal to prevent charter schools from discriminating against applicants based on sexual orientation, one representative suggested Tuesday that adult sexual attraction to children is a sexual orientation like homosexuality.

The amendment was tabled by Republicans, preventing a vote on it. But during the debate, Republican Rep. Paul Stam, R-Wake, said pedophilia, masochism and other illegal sexual practices are sexual orientations like homosexuality and he questioned the role adults who are sexually attracted to children might have in schools.

Several lawmakers called those comments offensive. After the House session, Twitter lit up with criticism of Stam’s comments from other lawmakers and left-leaning advocacy groups.

The amendment from Rep. Susan Fisher, D-Buncombe, would “prohibit a charter school from discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.”

In response, Stam handed out a sheet listing what he said were 30 different sexual orientations. He argued the definition of sexual orientation must be narrowed, otherwise it would include masochism, sadism, pedophilia, along with homosexuality and heterosexuality.
