State Dept Promotes Muslim Cleric Who Backed Fatwa on ‘Killing of U.S. Soldiers’

The State Department’s Counter Terrorism (CT) Bureau promoted on Friday a controversial Muslim scholar whose organization has reportedly backed Hamas and endorsed a fatwa authorizing the murder of U.S. soldiers in Iraq.

The CT bureau on Friday tweeted out a link to the official website of Sheikh Abdallah Bin Bayyah, the vice president of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS), a controversial organization founded by a Muslim Brotherhood leader “who has called for the death of Jews and Americans and himself is banned from visiting the U.S.,” according to Fox News.

Bin Bayyah is reported to have been one of several clerics who endorsed a 2004 fatwa that endorsed resistance against Americans fighting in Iraq, PJ Media reported in 2013, when Bin Bayyah met with Obama’s National Security Council staff at the White House.

Europe Sinks

The headlines exploded last night with EU election results showing clearly that voters in France, England, Germany, Denmark, Hungary and Greece (among others) had had enough of the EU.

As we predicted, the tribes of Europe are getting restless. These tribes were happy to take the cash when the EU was handing it out. But now, stuck with austerity and open borders, they are a good deal less content. In fact, they are angry and growing angrier. Here’s more from the article:

Mr Farage, who had promised to unleash an electoral “earthquake”, hailed the win as a watershed that would pile pressure on the leaders of Britain’s three main political parties to adopt more Eurosceptic policies. “The people’s army of UKIP have spoken tonight and delivered just about the most extraordinary result that has been seen in British politics for 100 years,” Farage said in the port city of Southampton after his re-election to the European Parliament.

Pope Francis: Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas a “man of peace.”

In this handout provided by the Israeli Government Press Office (GPO), Israeli President Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accompany Pope Francis as he visits the memorial monument commemorating victims of terrorist acts on Mount Herzl, on May 26, 2014 in Jerusalem, Israel. (Photo: GPO/Getty Images)

On Sunday, Francis visited the West Bank separation barrier which many Palestinian decry as it limits their freedom of movement. Israel says the construction of a barrier was necessary to keep militants out of Israel after a spate of Palestinian suicide bombings targeted Israeli civilians during the 1990s.

The image of Pope Francis Sunday bowing his head in prayer and touching a segment of the barrier that is concrete was characterized as “a major PR coup” for the Palestinians, as was his referring to Palestine as a “state” and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas a “man of peace.”

LIBERTARIAN PATRIOTISM VS. STATIST PATRIOTISM

Jacob Hornberger

by Jacob G. Hornberger
Today, Memorial Day, we are exhorted to display our patriotism by supporting the troops. That’s the statist version of patriotism. It involves a deference to authority and a conformity of mindset that induces citizens to automatically support the troops regardless of what the troops are doing.

The libertarian version of patriotism is completely different. It depends on an independent mindset, one that questions and analyzes what the troops are doing. The conscience of the individual plays an important role here. If a person concludes that the troops are engaging in wrongdoing, genuine patriotism, libertarians hold, necessarily entails an opposition to the troops, not a support of them.

The libertarian version of patriotism is especially important insofar as being a Christian is concerned. The Christian life is devoting to pursuing and following the laws of God. Thus, when government engages in conduct that violates the laws of God, the Christian’s moral duty is clear: He must pursue and follow the laws of God.

Exclusive: Federal Agents Break Into the Home of a Non-violent Grandmother!

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSiW6ukNiHE#t=1s

From YouTube:

Early in the morning in October, several men broke into Gracie Escamilla’s Texas home. Hurtling themselves over their fence and entering without knocking, she suspected the worst. But actually, they were Federal law enforcement officials. Bryan Preston reports on this, and joins Bill Whittle, so that they can get to the bottom of why agents would do this sort of raid on a non-violent grandmother.
