Federal Reserve Admits Truth In Internal Memo: “Prices Continue To Rise Between 3% And 33%”

We are confused: on one hand the Fed is injecting hundreds of billions of liquidity into the market, boosting the S&P to all time highs and making the rich richer (Piketty taking Excel lessons from Rogoff notwithstanding) while the economy remains stagnant because, according to the BLS, inflation is too low, and as everyone knows the biggest lament of the impoverished middle class is that “the value of my dollar isn’t being destroyed fast enough for me to feel confident about the future.” On the other hand, the very same Federal Reserve Bank (of Chicago), just announced that as a result of “prices continuing to increase between 3% and 33%” (!), beginning May 27 it is hiking the prices in its cafeteria. So, clearly prices are rising at a 33% clip due to, how does the IMF put it, lowflation, right? Oh, and harsh weather.

Subject: Reserve Center Cafe changes coming

Reserve CenterTM Tenants,

Due to rising product prices in the past several years, The Reserve Center will increase its prices in the cafeteria effective May 27.

Over the past five years, many of you may have experience product price increases in grocery stores. Prices continue to rise between 3% – 33%.  For the past eight years, The Reserve Center has been absorbing these increases. The last overall price increase in The Reserve Center cafeteria took place in 2006, followed by a limited increase on sugar-based products in 2012.

Japan Begins Purposely Dumping 100s Of Tons Of Radioactive Water From Fukushima Into The Pacific

Fukushima Radiation - University Of New South Wales

by Michael Snyder

How do you get rid of hundreds of tons of highly radioactive water?  You dump it into the Pacific Ocean of course!  In Japan, the  Tokyo Electric Power Co. has made the “painful decision” to begin purposely dumping massive amounts of radioactive water currently being stored at the destroyed Fukushima nuclear facility directly into the Pacific.  This is being done even though water radiation levels near Fukushima spiked to a brand new all-time record high just a few days ago.  The radioactive material that is being released will enter our food chain and will potentially stay with us for decades to come.  Fukushima is an environmental nightmare that never seems to end, but the mainstream media in the United States decided to pretty much stop talking about it long ago.  So don’t expect the big news networks to make a big deal out of the fact that Japan is choosing to use the Pacific Ocean as a toilet for their nuclear waste.  But even though they aren’t talking about it, that doesn’t mean that radioactive material from Fukushima is not seriously affecting the health of millions of people all over the planet.

According to the Japan Times, Tepco released 560 tons of radioactive water into the Pacific on Wednesday, and Tepco says that for the foreseeable future we should expect another 100 tons of radioactive water to be released into the ocean every single day…

Conyers back on Michigan ballot

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACbwND52rrw

A federal judge in Michigan on Friday ordered Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) to be placed back on the state’s Democratic primary ballot.

The ruling reverses decisions by the secretary of State and a county clerk that made it appear likely that Conyers, one of the longest serving House members, would have to mount a write-in campaign.

U.S. District Court Judge Matthew Leitman ordered a preliminary injunction forcing the Wayne County election commission to place the longtime congressman back on the August ballot and have the secretary of state and the county clerk issue any necessary certification by next Thursday.

How to Retake a Country Politically

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSC_RcFt0yk

No one is laughing at UKIP and Nigel Farage now. Will Americans be able to replicate this success here? NO.

We still do not even see the evil at our door. So why would the “average” American stand up for Liberty? It is too easy to steal money from the minority of people who work in the private sector to buy votes through entitlements and government workfare to establish tyranny.

UPDATE:

“Political Earthquake” – Nigel Farage “Big Winner” In Local Elections

Having taken the lead in the polls last week, UKIP’s Nigel Farage has scored a major victory in local elections in England with early results pointing to considerable gains for the euro-skeptic party:

  • UKIP GAINS 20 SEATS IN EARLY ENGLISH LOCAL-ELECTION RESULTS
  • U.K. TORIES LOSE 20 SEATS IN EARLY LOCAL-ELECTION RESULTS

As Reuters reports, one MP noted “I think Nigel Farage for quite a lot of those people is just a big sort of two fingers stuck up at what they feel is a sort of hectoring, out-of-touch elite.”

Gazprom CEO says China gas deal will affect European market

Russia’s landmark deal to supply natural gas to Chinawill affect prices in Europe and have an impact on international liquefied natural gas projects, the chief executive of state-run Gazprom said on Friday.

Russia and China signed a 30-year gas supply contract on Wednesday worth a total of more than $400 billion, during a visit by President Vladimir Putin to Shanghai.

“Literally a day ago a really historical event took place, an epoch-making event. We, Russia and Gazprom, have discovered the Asian gas market for ourselves,” Gazprom Chief Executive Alexei Miller said at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

“It can be assumed that the signing of the contract will affect gas prices on the European market,” he said without giving any details.

Barclays Fined For Manipulating Price Of Gold For A Decade

It was almost inevitable: a week after we wrote “From Rothschild To Koch Industries: Meet The People Who “Fix” The Price Of Gold” and days after “Barclays’ Head Of Gold Trading, And Gold “Fixer”, Is Leaving The Bank“, earlier today the UK Financial Conduct Authority finally formalized what most in the “tin-foil” hat community had known for years, when it announced that it fined Barclays £26 million for manipulating “the setting of the price of gold in order to avoid paying out on a client order.” Furthermore, the FCA confirmed that those inexplicable gold raids which come as if out of nowhere, and slam gold with a vicious force so strong sometime they halt the entire market, had a very specific source: Barclays whose trader “Daniel James Plunkett, sent out a burst of orders aimed at moving the price of the yellow metal.”

This took place for a decade. As the FT reports:

The FCA said Barclays had failed to “adequately manage conflicts of interest between itself and its customers as well as systems and controls failings, in relation to the gold fixing” between 2004 and 2013.

Some further details on Plunkett’s preferred means of manipulating the gold price:

TSA Posts 24 Million Round Ammo Bid Solitictiation – Most TSA Agents Don’t Carry Guns

611 357 sig

It’s a scenario that is being repeated over and over again. An agency of the federal government is posting a solicitation for bids for the purchase of an excessively large amount of ammunition, weapons, or the associated personal protection equipment, with no apparent justification and no accountability.

When this first started happening, Janet Napolitano offered some feeble attempts at an explanation, such as training use for expensive, duty rounds or hollow-points, which were obviously untrue. She also claimed that the government was ordering large amounts to get better pricing. Somehow being a sensible or frugal shopper doesn’t seem plausible, given the way this government throws money around.

Now the TSA, a largely unarmed agency, has posted a bid solicitation for 24 million .357 SIG rounds, to be delivered at a rate of 4,800,000 per year. The only armed personnel at the TSA are air marshals, and they rarely fire their weapons in the line of duty. Once again, these are not practice rounds.

GRNC Alert 05-22-14: PA Reciprocity Problems – Is NC Next?

PENNSYLVANIA NEEDS OUR HELP!

Our friend, Jeff Knox, at the Firearms Coalition, has issued the following critical alert (below). It looks like Pennsylvania needs our help, and this is the perfect chance to show that gun owners across the country will unite for a common cause, and will refuse to be continually subjected to harassment and illegal activities by government officials. Below, you’ll see what the Pennsylvania’s AG is doing to concealed-carry reciprocity agreements with several states. If this is allowed to stand, it’s only a matter of time until North Carolina’s reciprocity agreement with Pennsylvania is also on the chopping block. Here are important excerpts from Knox’s message:

Pennsylvania’s gun-unfriendly Attorney General has taken it upon herself to ignore the statutory limits on her power and modify – and even cancel – longstanding reciprocity agreements with other states.  Recently she has made changes to the reciprocity agreements with Virginia, Florida, and Arizona, and she has canceled reciprocity agreements with Idaho and Utah.

I suspect that Mike Bloomberg or the Legal Center Against Violence – or whatever those rights-hating San Francisco lawyers are calling themselves this week – have been whispering in the AG’s ear and convinced her that she can get away with this.  If that’s the case, be on the lookout for similar actions in other states.

Right now, we need to put pressure on Pennsylvania politicians to rein in the AG and force her to respect the rights of Pennsylvanians and folks who would like to visit Pennsylvania.

Whether you’re a PA resident or not, please let the Governor know that you’re not happy about the situation.  Not only does this mean that those of us wishing to visit PA are more likely to have problems carrying our personal defense arms, but Pennsylvanians wishing to visit other states are now at greater risk.

Tourism is a major industry in Pennsylvania and that got a boost a few years ago when the National Park Service ban on lawful carry on NPS lands was lifted – opening up battlefield parks like Gettysburg to those of us who avoid going where we can’t go armed.  That is now being jeopardized by the extra-statutory actions of this rogue AG.

If you’ve ever considered visiting Pennsylvania, let the Governor know that those plans are on hold until such time as the PA AG stops threatening the rights of responsible, licensed, law-abiding visitors.

The generally gun-friendly Governor’s email address is listed below, and you’ll also see the note I’ve sent him.  Please use it as a guide to send him a note of your own to let him know that his AG is costing his state business. You don’t have to say a lot, just let him know you’re not happy and you’re going to avoid Pennsylvania as long as the state’s concealed-carry reciprocity agreements are in question or voided all together.
